Dan Bickley on his morning radio talk show on 910 just said that
Curt Schilling collects Nazi memorabilia. Bickley also said that he is fascinated by that time period as well. Not only is it bad enough that he thinks that way, but to say it out loud is deplorable. How
can you collect memorabilia or be fascinated by a time when 1,000's of human beings (men, women, & children) were killed for no reason. His comments made me sick and disgusted. I can't believe that in today's times a high profile person like Bickley could be that insensitive.

I didn't listen to him on the radio...But I can't imagine both of them supporting the autrocities by collecting nazi memorabillia...

I would guess that they are just history buffs...

I've got one piece of Nazi memorabilia that I'll probably inherit from my grandmother.

It's a pair of German binoculars, with swastikas on it. My grandmother's cousin killed the Nazi (whoohoo), when he was leading the invasion of Innsbruck, Austria.

I have some nazi stuff: coins, patches, even a rifle with a swastika on it. Most of it I got from my grandfather. It is facinating but it doesn't mean I am going to put in on and attend secret meetings.

I must be missing something here.

What reason could possibly justify the action of killing innocent people?

Dan Bickley is Jewish!!! He stated so one night with Mark C. and Bruce J. on !2 Sports night. That may be why he is so sensitive.

Schilling is a known history buff, and no matter what the Holocaust did happen. There is stuff, and people SHOULD remember it so that it doesn't happen again. I see nothing wrong with someone who collects this stuff, unless of course they are a known racist or something.

Several years ago, one of our columnists in Philly accused Curt of being a Nazi sympathizer for collecting his WWII memorabilia. I didn't see the TV segment, but he got some strange stares out of the other reporters.

Curt collects everything. If all he collected was Nazi stuff, one could make an argument, but he collects other kinds of memorabilia, including his huge baseball memorabilia collection.

As usual, this thing is blown out of proportion. I am a nut about the WWII time period and would love to have artifcats from the period...even Nazi ones. Doesn't make me a Nazi does it? Bickley needed to fill some air time and needed something to piss and moan about.

Much ado about nothing IMO. Now. if Curt trots out to the mound wearing a swastika armband or sets up his locker as a Nazi shrine, then maybe we have something to talk about.

To nitpick, it wasn't 1,000's, it was 1,000,000's

I agree, its not an issue. He's a history buff. Likes to have things of important times in the world's history.

On that note, my friend when he was in NY, met up with a police officer (undercover or something...maybe terrorist task force) and started talking to him, the cop goes to him and his friend, get in and we'll show you NY, they did, and they did, including a trip to ground zero INSIDE the fences...

My friend not only got to see it from the INSIDE, they got out and the cop gave him a softball sized chunk of the trade towers.

Now that is a cool thing to have, is memorable, it reminds us all of what can happen, and will be an attention drawer well...forever.

My friend doesn't support what happened..obviously...and
Schilling doesn't support what happened during WWII....obviously

Much ado about nothing. If someone wanted to stretch this, I could be accused of the same for collecting Nazi film propaganda... Mein Kampf, Triumph of the Will, and other Leni Riefenstahl films.
