It was the first round of the NFL draft and the Cardinals were stuck in no mans land at #15 overall with no real chance at drafting a QBOTF. The only way to get one would be to mortgage their future with a ton of picks.

Then the draft started and the Browns made their first selection. They decided to use the #1 overall pick on a midget QB who hails from a Spread offense and rarely took a snap from under center. LOL this is a funny dream.

Then the Giants selected a RB #2 overall because they felt Eli would play forever. Cool thanks G-men.

Next the Jets stumbled into Sam Darnold. I think this was the first year I haven't laughed at the Jets pick. Man this is a strange dream.

So the Browns are up next and they have to select Chubb right. NO they go with a CB. Holy cow! Chubb is still out there!

Then Denver is like holy cow, Chubb is there for us! We are fine with Case Keenam at QB.

This dream only gets stranger as the Bills trade up to select Josh ....... Allen. Holy cow Josh Rosen is still available.

The bears take a LB and the Niners do the Cardinals a huge favor and take the player who Oakland coveted.

A bunch of naysayers suggested that Keim would never trade up in the first round and all of a sudden the Cardinals are on the clock. Oh no... is this a nightmare? Did the Cardinals have to give up a 1st rounder and a 2nd? Or was it more!? Are the Cards moving up to select Lamar Jackson? Oh please god, No!

Nope the Cardinals select Josh Rosen, the best passer in the draft who is most ready to play in the NFL. Too top it off they only had to trade a 3rd and a 5th to move up. Raiders fans are scratching their heads. Cardinals fans are elated. Keim is high fiving Michael Bidwill.

Surely this has to be a dream!

Was watching the ESPN feed when the Cardinals traded up and the analysts were all guessing Rosen till one of them brought up Lamar Jackson and then they all started talking about him. I almost threw a knife through my TV. Was so relieved when I finally heard Josh Rosen's name called.

Awesome Post!

Rosen is who I wanted all along and as the draft unfolded I could see us getting him and while that is fantastic the compensation we gave us was simply incredible. People say Keim doesn't have balls or guts or a plan but he showed he knows what he is doing.

He watched the draft unfold and knew he didn't have to panic and move up too high too soon and knew the Raiders needed to trade down to get better value for who they wanted and SK refused to over pay and in fact got the #10 pick at a discount.

Think about that for a moment, big brass ones because SK HAD to get a QBOTF and yet he stayed calm and cool and got what he wanted for what he wanted to pay.

Yeah I'm still convinced yesterday was a dream.

I mean:

Stout professed his love for Steve Keim

Then North Korea and South Korea became friends:

Hell I even saw Cats and dogs getting along:

Yeah I'm pretty sure yesterday was all a dream!

If Rosen ends up being a stud, we are going to look back at this sequence of events and feel like our luck has changed for good.

I'm still amazed it shook out like this. I thought there was about a 10% chance one of the top 4 QBs would be there at 10.

Actually THIS is what I give Keim the most credit for. He was proactive in getting his guy but not reactive and panicking. This year he played the moves of the first round to perfection. Last year he got played, this year he was the maestro.

Well, I would say it is a dream .... an ongoing one. Let's just hope it doesn't end up being a nightmare in which Rosen gets bored sitting on the bench after year and decides to enroll at ASU and pursue his PHD in Quantum Physics realizing that finding true reality in the world of the microscopic is much more relative to man than simply playing some game mislabelled as football.

I'll give Keim credit for getting the guy, I'm not sold on Rosen at all. He can change my opinion on the field though. A analyst on Jim Romes Show this morning said he'd start over Bradford, I was shocked.
