Please note I said Dream and I don't believe this is a true possibility.

As many of us know the Cardinals have as poor a reputation as any team ever has had in the NFL. We can't sign many of the FA's we covet and need. We can't retain much of the talent we do get lucky enough to draft and develop. All of this is directly attributed to Bill Bidwill. This team has performed worse than any other team in the league over his reign as the owner. If we aren't last in total wins then we are last in the combination of Win/Loss record and playoff appearances.

Now for the dream. Not just a ray of light but a full blown tropical island in paradise sunny day. So much Sun that it can wipe away the dark clouds that have hung over this organization for decades now.

A Dream that would answer all of our hopes and wishes. A solution that would give instant credibility to our version of the "Bad News Bears".

This Dream involves one bold move by Bidwill to get one GIANT of a football guru. A man who has a proven pedigree and commands respect in the entire league. A man who is available at this very moment. A man who has already indicated he would get back into the game if the price is right.

His name is....................................

Ron Wolf!!

Yes I'm nuts as Ouchie has stated more than once. Yes I'm a Dreamer as this thread has been titled. But join me brothers in this Dream. Dare to Dream and for a moment find some peace in what is our football nightmare.

All Bill Bidwill has to do is give a minority share of ownership to Mr. Wolf. This is the incentive that would talk to this true football legend.

Think of the instant respect the Cardinals organization would achieve with this one move.

How many more FA's and their agents would sit up and take notice. Those top notch FA's who wouldn' t give the Cards a first look would actually sign with the team.

Our drafts would be solid to outstanding every year.

Draft day trades would be well executed without any over paying or even the thought of the Cards getting taken.

Cap management would be well executed and player contracts would be proactive and creative.

Current players would now have a real reason to re-sign with the team. No more Simeon Rice etc. attitudes caused mostly by ownership. Players would believe this team wants to win and Mr. Wolf would have a plan that is proven to work.

Rod Graves should stay with the team in a very similar capacity that he has now. The difference is that Mr. Wolf will be there to train and guide him through rookie mistakes. Mr. Wolf can work with RG for a year or two and then decide if he needs to bring someone else in or if RG has what it takes.

This Dream has many thrilling thoughts and beautiful images.

A War Room that is completely ready to do anything and everything it takes to get their players.

An Organization that is on the cutting edge of technology and innovation.

An Organization that can and will attract any Coach at any level they want or need.

A system that will give Coach Mac every chance to succeed. A football guru who will know if this teams current problems are a matter of player talent or poor coaching.

Why should Bill Bidwill make this move?

I think I have answered many of these questions but would like to appeal to Bidwill's needs and wants.

He wants a stadium full of fans, especially when the new stadium opens. The way things are going now he as alienated most of the fans in Az. Yes there is the Few, the Proud, the Masochists, but our numbers are not near enough to give Bill want he needs. What Bill gives up in ownership he will more than make up for with increased attendance. Ron Wolf will put more fannies in the seats then any single coach or multiple players could accomplish.

One simple move, one man, could change the entire future and perception of this team.

A Dream.

A Hope.

One Man.

A multitude of happy fans.

I do have a Dream.

The question is does Bill Bidwill have the same kind of Dream.

Yeah, season ticket holders should get a free Xanax prescription to go with their free jersey.

If I was Bidwill I'd do it. I wish Bidwill would do that. The Cardinals can give Wolf the one thing Green Bay couldn't, a piece of ownership in an NFL team.

Wolf brings instant credibility, similar to Parcells. One of the first things Wolf said when he came to Green Bay was that we have to change the losing mindset of the organization. He laid down the law, commanded respect, and told it like it was without the political BS.

A slightly above average player went to Ron's office when he arrived in Green Bay and told him he didn't want to have to rebuild again. Ron said, "Brian, you're good, but not great. You're only going to be around until I find a better player to replace you with." That helped open some eyes.

Less players loafed when he took charge, because they knew they'd be gone. He also got players as he made more trades than any other team in the 90s.

Somehow convincing Ron Wolf to come here would be the genius move of the century - hence - it won't happen. But if it did - you'd be sure that Graves and everyone else in this organization but the owner would be on the first train outta town.

Cardiac, another solid post. This is just the kind of bold move that could really change around this organization. I like the way you break it down and show the benefits to everyone. But this is about as likely as Jerry Seinfeld becoming the next Pope.
