I saw there are other threads about cell phones so I figured I would ask here. I am looking to buy a new cell phone and I have AT&T. I was looking at the LG Slider. Which one do you recommend?

Stay away from the Blackjack, I had it and it was terrible. It would randomly call the last person I dialed and then it would randomly ring and no one would be there.

I switched to T-mobile and have just a basic samsung flip/camera phone and I have been very happy. The service is about the same, but the phone choices were better.

Yep, if I was looking for a new ATT phone that is what I would get.
The new release of the Iphone.
I'm going to check it out. Thanks for the heads up.

Seriously, I LOVE IT.

I recommend a case by COZIP, bought it on amazon. Black is better than the silver and it's like it's not even there. doesn't protect the screen, but I still don't have a scratch on it.

I also recommend buying a new apple computer to go along with it, makes doing things that much easier (syncing mail, photos, video, etc....)

The iPhone is a HYPE machine.

If you love it, you don't really know how to use the advanced features on the other cheaper devices.

1. For AT&T, The Tilt, is 5 times the device and over $100 cheaper.
2. The Voyager from Verizon. Again, 5 times the device.
3. Any of the new Blackberries on ANY carrier. Wifi built in, unending data options, and the coup de gras.... CORPORATE e-mail.
4. The New Samsung Glyde at Verizon is a great (and smaller) Mp3 touch screen device with a qwerty keyboard.

So, depending on your needs.... There are many more reliable, cheaper, more user-scentric devices that you should get. No removable battery??? No keyboard in landscape mode??? WTH???

You know a phone is a piece of crap when you walk in an AT&T store, talk to their employees, and find out that NONE of them have one. Managers, Sales Executives, B2B reps, indirect reps/employees, Agents, etc..... NO ONE HAS ONE. My guess is less than 10% of all AT&T employees have an iPhone.

Seriously.... Video, MP3, WIFI, Hi speed network (like UMTS or EVDO), and best of all..... CHEAPER!

As far as Apple Computers..... Totally different....They rock. Get one. The iPhone. An overhyped, overpriced, underperforming piece or very pretty plastic & metal.

I recommend the Tilt, which is what I have. It has most of the features of an iPhone. The only problem is that it is a pain in the ass to use the keypad

Are there any phones that you can program to either be on Ring Loud/Ring Soft/Vibrate/etc. depending on what time of day it is?

For example, if I want my phone to be on vibrate between 4PM and 6PM, but on the soft ring the rest of the day, can I set it to do that automatically or do I still have to switch it manually every day?

Most of the newer phones support timed profiles. That is how you handle your issue. Nokia's and Sony's (both AT&T) always seem to have the feature. Set the profile to turn off at a certain time (like when a movie or shift ends) and it will automatically go back to your normal profile.

Also..... The new Dare from Verizon is even better than the Voyager or the Glyde. 3.2 meg camera, smaller, and it's keyboard goes landscape in text message mode. Again..... The iPhone is trash. Utter trash.

The Bold looks really nice, but based on specs, the screen is actually smaller than the curve or 8800 series.

See my other post - I ended up getting the LG Vu CU920; very similar to iPhone but with more features.
