Plot: This ensemble comedy is about a married couple, the Jaffes (Hoffman, Tomlin), who work as detectives, helping people solve existential crises in their lives. For those not familiar with the philosophy-based term of "existential crisis", some examples of such a crises would be a "mid-life crisis", a "what am I doing with my life?" sort of hang up, "my life has been a mistake", "my whole life is a joke", etc. Their first client in this movie is Albert Markovski (Schwartzman), who is experiencing angst because of his position at Huckabee's, a popular chain of retail stores.

Cast: Dustin Hoffman, Isabelle Huppert, Jude Law, Jason Schwartzman, Lily Tomlin, Mark Wahlberg, Naomi Watts.

Website: Huckabees

I'll probably see this if only for Schwartzman (Rushmore).

This flick was awsome! Very well acted IMO. Even Wahlberg's character was great. A little confusing at times. 10/10 How am I not myself? How am I not myself?

Tried in vain to piece this movie together. Still liked it though I'd be hard pressed to reccomend it.

Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh this movie was tough to keep watching.

First off, I dont find philosophy all that fun or interesting. And secondly, I was consistently distracted by Jude Law and his "American accent... no wait, English accent, wait wait... AMERICAN! accent" accent.

The only bright spots were Jason Schwartzman and Wahlberg. I thought Marky Mark did a fantastic job and he had me crack up out loud a few times with his delivery and always shoving/pushing people and things.

I can see why some would like this movie, but this was definitely not a movie I found very enjoyable.

This movie was so lame it actually hurt physically to watch. My overall lameness factor went up by a multiple of 2.

Wow, I'm amazed at the negative feedback. I knew that a lot of people simply wouldn't understand the movie, but the sheer number that seem to have missed the point astounds me. Ah well. To each their own.

Just because someone didn't like the movie does not mean they "missed the point."

Perhaps you missed my point when all I said was "i did not like this movie"

Thanks for reminding me of this movie. Once again, how am I not myself?

I laughed a lot at this movie, and I liked it. It was freaking weird, but good.

I would never recommend it however...it's a movie that may happen to resonate with you at that moment, but it isn't for everyone.

Like I said, to each their own. Many times I feel that people expect something out of a movie that is just flat out not what the movie is about. I think that's the case with this movie. As I posted long, long ago, it's not a movie for everybody, but I am still surprised at the outright loathing it has engendered.

Oh, and to your little lame riposte? Nope, I think you definitely got it wrong ;)

I recently recorded this to my DVR.

I usually enjoy movies that people either love or hate.

I recently watched this. I liked it, but I can definitely see why many people didn’t. I thought the cast was excellent and I enjoyed the interesting quirky characters.

I had no idea until now that Talia Shire was Jason Schwartzman’s mom.
