He reminds me of Shanahan, Ditka, Parcells, as a task master. He'll provide the emotional clout. "He put's the fear of God in you" (former Bengal player).

One problem.... He still thinks this organization owes him 300K.. (And they might!)
Second Problem... Even if he wanted to be an NFL coach of any kind, Arizona wouldn't be one of his top 31 picks!

Um he might take the job just so he could screw everything up he is pretty bitter.

He got sat back down after he lit things up and he suspects it was to avoid paying him a yardage bonus he was closing in on.

Kent Grahm was hurt when he came in and threw for tons and tons of yards but then they put Kent back in.

We do have pretty hot cheerleaders though so we would have a shot.

I hope this is being said tongue and cheek, we need an experienced coach. One that has a proven track record in rebuilding a team from top to bottom.

Like Marty of San Diego? We need a FIRE-EATER like Ditka, Parcells..somebody who can break through the "numbness" of too much money and too much business as usual. Let Boomer surround himself with some experienced administrators (some OLDE-timers) and get this team ready to KICK BUTT like their lives depended on it!

FYI....boomer used to keep a 2nd home in north scottsdale - and this is from a few years after he played here..not sure if he still has it (2nd home)- I read a couple of years ago that he still resided here part time...

Yes they do, but there is a difference between Boomer and Shanahan, Ditka andParcells.

Boomer (and Dieon) is an ex-player turned TV anouncer. Shanahan, Ditka and Parcells are coaches.

So lets get a coach who can make a difference

We need a coach with experience. One that is not afraid to hold the players responsible. You can still be tough and be respectful.

I totally agree!!! If they have the talent they will win. Just look at Mac he has had the talent and hs lost big time. Just look at what has happened to people when they have left here for greener pastures. Most have been better with their new teams then with us. Coaching is the answer, I hope that Ron graves realizes this.

In everyone's opinion - is Snyder of K-State too old to make the shift to the NFL as head coach?

I just don't like Snyder as a person but I would say no he is not too old because he seems to have a knack fo hiring good assistants so in that sense I think he would do well.

He is a smart guy but he has some traits as in totally making an @ss out of himself by chewing out a coach for daring not to play the cupcake roll that makes him just a worm.

Also it is very hard to know who will make the transistion to the NFL since what works in college sometimes has 0 to do with what works in the NFL... See Spurier.

After Stoops left KState they switched from Stoops attack defense to a zone defense and in college that will kill any team except a total power running team.

In the NFL zone defenses will get shredded unless you have awesome personell to play it the recievers will just sit down in soft spots and bleed you to death like they do us. It does work with a good pass rush like a variant that Tampa plays but one or two players being injured can cause the whole thing to collapse.

All that being said I think Snyder would adjust and hire good assistants that would run a respectable NFL offense and defense.

A successful coach has to have the ability to get their team to have the pride to REFUSE to be defeated by ANYbody. Boomer had that as a player...with NO authority. As COACH he would have the authority!!!
