I was actually surprised no trade for an O Lineman

U thought that Whiz? would try to get one of the free agents available this past week to do something about improving the O Line. Nothing. In fact what we get on the Cards web site is a story about two rookies on the taxi squad and how they are trying to be ready to play. Wow, not an effort made to try and improve the worst O Line in football,

I don't know that it's fair to draw that conclusion. We never know what's going on behind the scenes, Whiz may well have tried to engineer a trade. Quite possibly you're correct but I'm not sure paying a premium to bring in a marginal LT at this point of the season would have made much of a difference. We needed to do something but the time to act was before the season started. Graves should have picked up the phone the moment Levi went down, IMO.

John Clayton says that Baltimore probably wasn't going to let McKinnie go, and perhaps if they were, they may have been asking for for something outrageous (2nd or 3rd rounder). I'd rather keep our picks and rebuild if that was the case. I think the white flags will start waiving if we get destroyed in GB, might as just hold on to our picks let the season play out. Cardinals won't have to lose on purpose, they are just that bad.

Is Potter any better than the last 7th round Tackle they tried? Never really saw him play at Boise State and pre season doesn't really tell you much.

There's not much of a chance he could be worse than what's out there right now. Might as well take a chance and see if he's a gamer.

What does it say about coaches and scouts when the Cards called Young up from the practice squad last December to keep the Eagles from claiming him?

That's two different groups that thought Young was NFL quality. Or maybe he just needs more time.

I think it shows that tackles don't grow on trees

If a guy has a certain build and decent feet, he likely gets a look
