Didn't Kent Somers write an article about how Denny really didn't participate in meetings and yet he made a HUGE, GAME CHANGING judgement call when he may not have even been in the know as it were?

I happen to agree with the notion that had the Cards won that game, they would have been in the playoffs. The team never recovered from that game IMO and if they win it, they grasp onto what I believe would have been a season long momentum ride that would have gotten them into the playoffs. That Bears game was the death sentence for this team...and for Denny.

BTW, I was not fooled.

Certainly makes it more clear as to why the Cardinals went into the crapper for about a month following the Chicago game and Rowen's dismissal.

Message board posters don't know all?

We do know it all. It just takes awhile for what we've known for months to become general knowledge.:D

Gentlemen,

Why torture yourselves about those games? Move on and prepare for the KoolAid Bowl (draft).

We're Cardinal fans. It's what we do. Especially knowing that there'll be more of them this fall.

Its interesting, but does anyone find it a little too dramatic the stance that the writer takes. He tells the story and then about how Theismann missed an oportunity to give a little insight to the fan and when Theismann doesn't the writer gets on some high horse and condemns him. If Theismann were to tell that story on the air he would have made Denny Green look like a complete ass on national TV. Not that it wouldn't be warranted but Theismann would never have that same information from these teams if he were to air everyone's dirty laundry.

So Rowen made the comments to Theisman during the game? How is that not selling Denny out? Even if Denny is a dummy, why would Rowen not keep it inhouse?

according to the article, Rowen had told Theismann during the week leading up to the game that he thought they could beat the bears with short passes.

The post also said something about if Green would let him, didn't it?

Because Edge had been complaining he wasn't allowed to close out prior games so Rowen was concerned Denny would insist on giving the ball to Edge if they got a lead on the Bears?

At least that's how I read it.

i agree....thee is a certain "clubhouse etiqutte" similar to "what goes on in vegas....." if that happened that is really low end behavior...but who knows what lead up to rowen doing that??? still no excuse....i remember in the service there where the guys who walked around with the clipboard and until you knew better you thought they knew something...when actually the clipboard had more brains than they did.
