What the hell is wrong with him? :mulli:

I guess everyone last year had career years at the same time which almost propelled us to the NCLS. Now that everyone is back to normal, this team is playing sub .500 ball as usual.

He sucks. Can't get anyone out. Worst #1 in the league. Trade him for a third baseman!
;)

It really is incredible... before the game yesterday, I was propping him up and stating how Goldy needs to be sent to Reno. And what happens? Kennedy get lit up and Goldy collects 3 hits... uggghhhh....

As I have said, I think Bauer is being put in a position to replace Kennedy, whom I feel if the right deal comes along the D'Backs move him. I think last year was a career year and will be hard for him to duplicate. Of course the offense hasn't exactly been saving him lately but getting shelled for 6 runs in 5 IPs ain't good either.

Didn't see the game. Is he still having trouble leaving the ball up?

Here is an interesting thought by AzRepublic/AzCentral sportswriter Bob McManaman about Kennedy. It is near the bottom of the article.

Personally, I don't have any real problems with this, so let's not blow things out of proportion, but Ian Kennedy and at least one teammate went golfing here Friday morning -- a day before his start against the Royals.

Kennedy admittedly pitched terribly. It was his fourth consecutive loss. I'm not saying golf was the reason for it, but I will say this: He told me after the game he will try to learn from Saturday's performance.

I think it starts by leaving the golf clubs at home and focusing solely on pitching.

McManaman is a lot closer to the situation than we are.

Kennedy had given up 51 HRs prior to this season. He's on pace to give up more than half his career total so far. This is clearly a location issue and something is desperately wrong with his slider -- it's being pummeled. His fastball has serious location issues and they're hitting that well, too ... which is not a good sign, because he throws his fastball about 60 percent of the time (and almost 70 percent of the time when he gets behind in the count).

His curve is still very good. He needs to throw that more and cut down on the fastballs. Should probably throw the change up more than the slider because he can throw it for strikes and people aren't sitting on it.

I think, primarily, hitters are either sitting on his fastball or his slider, and he must throw it to a common location in certain counts. They seem to know when it's coming and where it's going to be. He has a good fastball, but it's not a pitch so good you can throw it as often as he does. It's a four-seamer

I guarantee that if you go full K9 on the DBacks board, this team will win the World Series :D

With Ian it's all about location. Right now he's having problems with it. Ever hear of being wild in the strike zone? That's where IPK is having his problems. When's he's missing it's more often or not over the plate. Everyone knows he's working on it and I have faith that he'll get it turned around.
