OK I know you guys are like me. I have been sitting here at work racking my brain on what’s going to happen with my beloved team….and I am trying to concoct the ideal scenario if Joe in some way is forced to come back to Phoenix (and this is looking more and more like a possibility) so ideally what happens…..as a suns fan this is what I want…

-Joe signs the tender for one year with the hope of being an unrestricted free agent next year w/o being limited to where he can go. Joe comes back next season and balls out. Im talking 20, 5 and 5 as him and Amare lead them to the Finals or just take the whole dang thing. Joe realizes that he is the second option on this team and after becoming an all-star at the break, he sees he can win and be the man (or one of two at least)….Phoenix then offers him the best contract with their Larry Bird rights and he resigns. Unfortunatly this leads to the trade of Marion to the Blazers (as Telfair and Webster mature faster than expected and Blazers GM Nash wants to gain a veteran influence)for Travis Outlaw and a first round pick (as well as an expiring contract…Ratliff?) but the Suns precede to win the next 5 or so championships (yeah cuz im not bias) w/ Joe and Amare the newest Shaq/Kobe-Jordan/Pippen tandem…..

While a lot of this seems unlikely another scenario could develop. Lets say the Suns are playing well next year (4th or 5th seed) and Joe is too but not so much that losing him would hurt too bad or what we gained by a trade could put us over the top. So we trade him to say Denver (where they want an extension in place before hand) and we get back say Nene and Julius Hodge or maybe a newly signed Buckner or Demarr Johnson. We do this only if Bell or JJax plays better than expected in our system.

Anyone got a better situation than the above if Belkin kills this whole deal……?

The league decides it has seen enough and dissolves the Atlanta Hawks franchise.

Not that it's possible, but I would find it funny if the NBA decided to "demote" the entire Atlanta Hawks franchise to the NBDL for this coming season.:D

At least then they'd "have a chance" at a winning record.

The best possible outcome is this; The hawks add Childress instead of Diaw, and change the protection on the picks around. Top 8 protected next year, unprotected after that. The hawks get the 7th pick in the '06 draft, then miss the playoffs by one game in the '06-'07 season. They then win the lottery for the Suns, and we get Oden to put next to Amare for the next 15 years.

Belkins thinks the Hawks paid too much. It is a sign of the times that most people agree and still think that is the best they can hope for.

I agree with Belkin on this one. Not only do you have to give Free Agent Money to a player but you have to give more up just to get the offer you gave him. Man this is a big mess.

My best possible outcome is Belkin wins his suit Tuesday. He won't give us the compensation for sign and trade. We match. JJ is with the Suns next year, or until we can do a much better deal in trade with JJ, Marion, or whoever, EXCEPT Amare! Heck, I would even trade Nash and let JJ be PG if it came right down to it. ;)
