Rasmus and Nicolai Højgaard will make history as the first set of twins to compete in the Masters when the iconic golf tournament begins on April 10.
The 24-year-old identical twins from Billund, Denmark are set to compete at the Augusta National Golf Course after growing up with dreams of pursuing professional golf. Rasmus will be making his Masters debut while Nicolai returns for his second bout.
“We would tell each other ‘this is the putt to win the Masters,’ ” Rasmus shared in a recent interview with Fox Sports, adding that the brothers would often “try to compete with each other.”
The brothers "really started watching" the Masters when they were "about 10, 11 years old," Rasmus told Fox. He recalled watching Bubba Watson win the tournament in 2012 being "probably the first real memory we have of the place."

On April 8, the identical brothers enjoyed a laugh when they arrived at their joint press conference in the same color outfit. "It was completely random," Nicolai told reporters, according to CNN. "Ras left the house a little bit earlier than me this morning, and when I came out here, he was sitting in beige pants and a green jumper,” he explained.
“We actually thought, it’s not too bad, actually, make good sense going into the press conference in the same clothes, so it worked out all right," Nicolai said.

The brothers admitted during their presser that they would "switch classes" when they were in school. "Everyone in the room, they obviously know that it's the wrong one that's here, but the teacher wouldn't know," Rasmus shared with reporters, per CNN.

And although they'll be competing against one another in the upcoming days, the brothers are supportive of each other's goals. "I think it would be very cool," Rasmus told CNN of potentially seeing his brother win after first joking that the scenario would "probably be very frustrating."
Rasmus revealed to reporters that their support for one another has come a long way since they were kids. "I don’t think we supported each other very much back then...We would fight a lot more than saying congratulations," he said.
Now that they're older, "We can shake each other’s hand now and say congrats when someone is playing well, and be brothers as well and friends at the same time,” Nicolai said.
Nicolai will tee off at 7:51 a.m. ET on Thursday, April 10 and Rasmus will play just after 12:30 p.m.
