Of course, just saying "Internet Explorer" is enough to make some of you nauseated.... ;) ..... but here's the deal:

There is one internet site that I go to on occasion that if I try to follow any of the embedded links, my computer will lock up (I can correct it through task manager). However, if I go to the same site using Firefox, it works just fine. This only happens on this one site. Any ideas?

BTW... I'm using updated XP Pro and IE 7.0.5730.11

I would just use Firefox, the security options are so much easier.

If you do this in IE, you can change your permissions for "trusted sites' to be more lenient than the default.

Go to tools-> Internet Options -> Security (tab) -> Trusted Sites.

Then click the "sites" button and enter the domain of your trusted site. e.g.
"*.yoursite.com"

Then go back to the security tab and select "custom level". There are a ton of different buttons, but you should turn on permissions for ActiveX, XML, and Java. Make sure you trust the site not to harm your computer, though.
