Has anyone here installed the new Internet Explorer 7?

I installed it last week and just yesterday I started having problems with it...web pages stopped loading and I was redirected to the Dell Search page (Google with a Dell.Com banner--not my default search engine).

I had to go around it and remove IE7 and go back to IE6 and things now seem to be working fine...has anyone else had similar problems? I've been to other message boards and have seen other people are having similar problems (and others) so if you haven't installed it yet, I'd probably wait a bit until microsoft gets rid of a lot of the bugs.

There have been other quirks with it, but none that stopped me from browsing.

What OS are you running on your machine? That has a huge factor in how IE7 was upgraded/installed etc.

I'm using Windows XP. Its just strange to me that problems didn't happen right away but took a couple of days to come to the surface.

It might be some sort of hijacker if it is automatically sending you from whatever page you are trying to open to a completely different page (although going to the Dell page sounds strange). What sort of anti-malware (spyware/virus/etc) software do you have?

It could be, but IE7 asks you if about changing your default search engine. I don't remember the exact wording, but that could be the cause as well.

I had real problems with just about everything when I switched to IE7 so I did the same thing and went back to version 6 at work.

I have IE7 on my home computer and still have problems with it being real slow. For instance it is very slow recognizing key strokes. So much so that I now use AOL Explorer instead even though my IP is ATT/sbcglobal.
