I kind of lurk around these boards,(good time killer) and had a question. I am starting a database internship, and was wondering if there are any good forums anyone knows about that would be able to help me out with some problems that I've been having. Preferrably ones that are not too hostile to dumb questions If anyone here would like to help I'm using Access 2003. It's just a small database but it has been a while since I last took Access class and I'm kind of overwhelmed.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Well actually I have quite a few of them.
Here's one. I downloaded someones opensource calendar code and would like to modify it for my users. The company I'm working for has alot of layoff time for the plant. I would like for the user to be able to just click on the days there were layoffs or holidays and be able to use that data to help with figures involving lost time due to injury.

Sounds more like you have access programming questions ?

or is it database concepts that is the issue ?

If you ever want to find a discussion forum on anything, google is your friend.

Just do a google search on "(your topic) vbulletin" or "(your topic) phpbb".

A quick google search on "Microsoft Access vbulletin" revealed this: Access world forums

Not sure if what that is you are looking for, but that is a place to start.

It's not so much the concepts but more of trying to make it work exactly the way I want it to. Right now I'm building a safety database from scratch. Tracking OSHA recordables and such. All I've had to work off of are some reports.

I'm not having too many problems with creating the databases and the relationships. I am mostly having trouble with making access do the things that I want it to. I know a decent amount of programming(not great at it but I am studying it) unfortuantely my classes don't go very indepth with coding. They stick to concepts. Such as this chapter you do arrays or classes.

It also doesnt help that I haven't done any access since May of last year before this internship.

Just do a google search on "(your topic) vbulletin" or "(your topic) phpbb".

I'll give that a try. Hopefully it works out for me. Google tends to either make me try to pay or gives me questions that aren't helpful

Absolutely. I don't even use the help feature in apps like Dreamweaver anymore. I just open Google and type my question.
