Who would you as a Cards fan most want to have had? Obviously, if they played for us they wouldn't necessarily have the same stats or awards they had with their real teams.

Vote via upcoming poll.

Earl Campbell.

My favorite running back of all time, and top 5 all time if you ask me.

I almost selected Adrian Peterson as that one had a good chance of happening. Selected Barry as he is my favorite player of all time.

Walter Payton would be my selection with Jim Brown finishing a very close second. As far as Barry Sanders, insane talent and exciting but at times it seemed like the Lion offense was like someone using the passing game with a series of bombs as the offensive play book...but they did this with the run. There would go Barry eat up the clock make unreal moves to gain just 5 yards. Then he would get stopped dancing around for a 4 yard loss. Then he would break one for thirty. Then he would lose 2. Then he would do a remarkable move and gain 8. Then the Lions would try a token pass for that first down, it would be incomplete and they would punt. Alright, it was not that inconsistent but watching the Lions to see Barry break a big play tried my nerves overall lol
Oh, here is Terry Metcalf...

Jetstream, your points about Barry are entirely valid, and why from a purely football point of view I didn't like his style of play. Put their team in second and long a lot more often than any other back would. But he also was incredible to watch and made a five yard loss as exciting as a 20 yard gain.

He was special, fun and classy. And with our historical Oline, his style would be just fine. Emmitt couldn't have ran behind this collective oline so prolifically.

Even though he might put you in a hole more often than any other back on that list, he'd escape from things others wouldn't, and he would make horrid seasons still fun to watch. Kind of like pre-Warner days Boldin.

Absolutely, he was one of the greatest backs of all time but his style of play for myself would drive me crazy if I was a OC. By all means I would want a Barry Sanders on my team, but I would much prefer something sweeter like Sweetness lol

My fav too Rugby, I even have an autographed white Horns jersey he signed! :D

As much as I loved the Tyler Rose, I still think Barry Sanders was the greatest RB in this games history. Different styles for different folks I guess.

Adrian Peterson.

I can't wait for the long snapper thread I've got some good selections there.

I believe Barry sanders in the best back of all time not to mention the most fun to watch, but wih Barry's career being during the 90's it would've been sad to see him waste away on the teams we fielded at SDS.

I chose adrian Peterson not only because he actually SHOULD'VE played here, but could you imagine what would be going through a defensive coordinators head the night before playing the cardinals with Kurt, Fitz, Q AND AP!?!?!?

I think this is the first poll that my pick was what the most people wanted. I am usually way off from everyone else.

Sanders would have made a perfect Cardinal and would've felt right at home losing all the time like he did.
