EASTERN:
------------
1. Indiana (15-3)
2. Philadelphia (9-9)
3. Detroit (13-6)
4. New Orleans (11-6)
5. Toronto (8-8)
6. Milwaukee (8-9)
7. Boston (7-10)
8. New Jersey (7-10)

WESTERN:
------------
1. LA Lakers (14-3)
2. Dallas (11-6)
3. Sacramento (12-4)
4. Denver (10-6)
5. Utah (10-6)
6. Seattle (8-6)
7. Houston (9-7)
8. Portland/Golden State (8-7)

Of course the playoffs do not start tomorrow. There is still a whole lot of season left to play. Although the Phoenix Suns slow start is disturbing, it's not the end of the world. Now if they bomb this upcoming road trip I'll start to get concerned.

Wow I didn't realize Utah was playing that well.

Wasn't the media cracking jokes on the lack of talent due to the departure of Malone and Stockton?

Look at the 8th spot right now--1 game over .500. We're what--2 games under? There's no reason whatsoever to think we can't make the playoffs. We do need to play better, however.

Based on the experiences of the last seasons unfortunately there is a pretty good chance that Suns won't be able to turn things around.

As far as I remember Suns came back with 1-5, 0-5 from East-Coast trips and their best performance was 2-3 last November when they beated BOS and started to build a nice winning streak.

Add the fact that Suns play worse than they did last season and there is a very limited hope that they will go into the winning mode.

BTW, FIRE Frank Johnson!

The main problem for me is that we went 7-8 in Oct-Nov when we had 11 supposedly easier opponents and only 4 tough opponents(Spurs, Lakers, Pistons & Mavs). In December we only have 4 supposedly easy opponents (Magic, Heat, Clips, & Clips again). Hopefully the Suns will step up their play against the tougher opponents like they've show they can do, but it might be tough for them to do that every other night.
