Somebody give me a reason why I should not worry and just bask in the moment, ala Mattys selection last year. I will worry like a old woman if we don't implement a plan to fix this mess that is the OL. Brown will be gone so there's no hope there. How about this Central Michigan kid? Will he be available and can he step right in? Draftniks, I'll need your help here because I haven't heard one option outside of miraculously signing Faneca where I'll be okay when the smoke clears. I know a lot of us want the sexy pick, but our sexy is wearing a girdle and tons of makeup. Help me gang!

Because we signed one of, if not the best line coach in the game? (Didn't that happen last year)
Because we will still draft a tackle, maybe two this weekend?
Because we signed Gandy and we already have Ross back there?

Crap, DCR better shut up, or he will start freaking out too.

First of all, Faneca is a Guard, and Guard isn't where our line problems are.

Secondly, Tony Ugoh will be there in the second, or we could try to trade up to the late first or early (earlier) second if Staley is still there. These guys have more question marks than do Thomas or Jones, but they could end up being very good players.

...or there's always the June cuts... ;)

I'd love to have AP but it's not realistic. We have Edge and Shipp as a back up. We need O-line and LB in the new defense. These are pressing needs. We also can use a corner and special team depth. AP would be a nice player to have if we didn't have these other needs.

IMO, a solid line will get us to the playoffs. Another rookie runner might help, but forst things first.

DCR loves Staley and would much rather have him that Brown. He has made that pretty clear.

Help is on the way! You don't think that only the peanut gallery is aware of the enormous need for fixing the line do you? One way or the other Brown or Peterson will be there for us. If they have to trade down it will be only Brown pick. To do that Quinn has to be available to Miami or Minn as that is the only two teams that would consider them between 6-10. The "small risk" is that Washington trades down to "say" the Bears and THEY decide they want Brown. Highly unlikely but a possibility as the Bears line is getting old and they are a running team. We cannot afford to go lower than 9 if we want Brown. Texas would assuredly take him. Minn or Miami would want to take Quinn more than we want Brown. My guess is if one of those deals go down we might get an additional 4 an added 3 would be a stretch. We will know in about 26 hours.
