If we trade for Henry does that mean 100% no RB with #8 pick?

Just wondering what you think. If Rolle and Johnson are gone and we trade for Henry but Brown is there.....

It is unlikely that both Rolle and Johnson will be gone by #8 and if for some reason they are then PacMan Jones is there. I think we pass on Henry in a trade and use our #44 on one of Fason, Morand or Barber. While the depth of this years draft is somewhat marginal after the top 10 there is real value in the second and third rounds. I'm against trading day 1 picks and Henry doesn't excite me enough to give up a day 1 pick.

As for Brown at #8......while at one time I could have swallowed this, his stock is falling and I think he might be a reach at #8. He is a powerfull runner no doubt but we need a back with the vision that a Smith has but with some quickness and speed left in the tank. Each of Barber, Morand and Fason have this dimension.

What about JJ Arrington?

If Henry comes here that would be a big no to a RB in the 1st or even 2nd round. But I wouldnt be to surprised if we still picked up a speedster change of pace guy in the 4th or 5th round such as Walter Reyes or Anthony Davis.

If Johnson and Rolle were gone and Henry comes here I would look to trade down and get Miller around 14. Maybe we pick up an extra pick at 5 or next years 4th in the trade down. We could then take the BPA in the 2nd or maybe the best Cb on the board. What would you do if this scenario happened?

I would agree with you on this. Henry would be the featured back and there is no reason to take a top back at #8 when we have so many other needs. Picking another back on day 2 for backup and speed would make sense.

"Strengths: Has very good size...Great speed...Excellent receiver out of the backfield who runs good routes and has reliable hands...Very strong and runs hard...Is a good blocker...Has good balance...Displays good vision and hits the hole hard...Can run over defenders or run away from them...Character is excellent and has a team first mentality."

Part of the reason that trading for Henry appeals is that not only will we fill a need and get a good back. But we can get another quality player at #8 to help us.

If we secure Henry then we don';t most likely have a second round pick. So we won't trade down in that situation.

Or else you'r talking about getting someones 1st & 2nd in a trade down? Not likely to happen. Teams don't give up seconds easy anymore. They're too valuable.

... on your last point - re: the value of second round picks.

It's one of the reasons why I don't think we'll be giving ours to Buffalo.

Number one I think we get Henry with a 3or 4 pick. Number two I watched JJ today and was not impressed at all. To much of a Gamble IMO.

I am of the opinion that we will get Henry with our 3rd round pick or we will not be getting him. No way would I give a 2nd for him. As you said Teams don't give up seconds easy anymore they are too valuable.

Yea , I just don't think a 3rd gets that deal done. Maybe since we have an early one?

What do you think of moving B. Johnson for Henry then getting a couple of speed guys in here to run clearouts and catch an occasional deep ball?

The price for Henry is a 2nd rounder at this point. Not to say that the price won't go down, but that's conjecture. Other than posters on this board, and a bit of speculation in the Press... I haven't heard from anyone in authority that the Cards are actually considering Henry as an option. As for Arrington: Well, Julius Jones and Tatum Bell didn't light it up last year, either.

I would not mind this at all. We need a speed guy and it is yet to be seen if BJ can aspire to that role. We will have to give up something for Henry and he would be desirable to Buffalo. I would rather send a 3rd and a conditional pick next year but if we could get a burner to stretch the field I would do it.

I thought that Julius Jones did extremely well after overcoming his injury.

Yes... but I'm referring to his appearance at the Senior Bowl.
