........what do you do?

If I am him I am on the horn with Dockett's Agent and getting some good news on Cards Front Street ASAP! They know they are not going to let him walk, and why not get it done now.

Huh? I can't recall the specifics about Breaston's situtation, but isn't Fitz already locked up thru 2012? Didn't we justn re-sign Duece for almost $2 million this coming season? And isn't Campbell locked up thru 2013?

he did nothing good on friday, what makes you think he's getting up early on Saturday?

He might as well sleep in. We'll lose just as many players either way.

Yes, Fitzgerald is locked up through 2012, but he shouldn't get within two years of becoming a free agent. He is too important to this team.

Breaston is probably a free agent next year if they strike a new CBA. The Cardinals need to lock him up now before they get to that situation. Same goes for Lutui. I thought Campbell's deal was 4 years, and if that is correct, they need to lock him up now. Now that they have purged themselves of "overpriced" players, they need to lock some key guys up long term to show that they are going to have some organizational stability long term.

What if Dockett doesn't want to sign here now, given the circumstances that took place today. You never know...

No, but tell me deep down he wouldn't sign for a deal he felt he was worth, much like Rolle and Dansby did. It is about meeting the player's estimate of their self worth in $$$.

And what if they low ball him on "his worth" until he is a free agent, then try to meet his demands? I know it's probably blowing smoke, but DD has already stated that if he wasn't extended this offseason he would sign with a team in the NFC West. He may be bluffing, he may not.

If I was Dockett, I'd be jumping for joy. Look at all the dollars that just got freed up to extend his contract. Not only that, but now, he is the tiger on the defense. He'll spend a lot more time in the limelight without having to share it with Dansby & Rolle. He and Wilson will be household names and with a good year DD will have no trouble making the Pro-Bowl and reaching his incentives.

The issue is the low ball is from the player's perspective. If the rest of the free world thinks Dockett is worth 9 mil a year and he thinks he is worth 12, then even 9 mil is insulting to him. I honestly think you see this deal get reworked this offseason.

If you are Graves Saturday morning..... I quit, then pack my stuff in the middle of the night and leave Arizona. I grow a tail and stick it between my legs and get kicked to the curb. The worst GM of all time. The Cards are again the laughing stock of the NFL.

:yeahthat:

They either want to play somewhere else or they found more money elsewhere. Sports is a business and there is less loyalty (from both sides) than there has been in the past. I sense we will see less and less players that play for and retire from one team only in the future (captain obvious reporting).

I get up, make two pots of coffee, and call Whizz first thing and spend all day with Whizz calling Clark from Pittsburgh for a Saturday Evening Visit[Graves always wants to wait till Monday] to replace/improve Rolle's spot, and whoever else Whizz tells me he wants that I'm allowed to pursue for Sunday Morning/Evening visits 2 sessions depending on how many visits we can arrange on this notice so short. Graves MUST take advantage of the fact that Whizz is one of the most popular coaches in the NFL, a real players' coach. GRAVES.. YOU SNOOZE .. THE CARDINALS LOSE!!!

I'd wake up, kick myself in the head for forgetting to use any lube, and run to the farmacy to buy something against that incredibly painful burning sensation in my ass that was left behind after the meeting with Ozzie last night.

After that i´d start making some calls. Standing up....

;)

Losing that 5th rounder is going to come back and bite us in the ass!! I'm surprised Graves didn't give up CCampbell, as additional compensation since we "Raked the Ravens over the coals so bad in this trade". Grow some balls, Rod, or stand next to Whizz and let some of his energy flow through you!! G@@ Dammmit what a rotten day Friday was..Our defense can now be a full-blown full-time 3-4 if that's what Whizz wants to draft for..Go ahead aND pay Dockett fair market now on a 4-5 year extension, with Dansby's $$.. We need a bigtime PR and KO man so our ST's will step up even more this year. I don't know what to do about Rackers, though.
I'm sorry Guys, I've had a bad day.

Did anything happen that we havent all been expecting for weeks now? Business as usual in my book. We offered similar money to both players lost. They dont wanna be here? See ya. Would have preferred to get a 2 for anquan, but we got a 3 and 4 in defenfesively loaded draft, and coincidentally, thats just what we need.

Nothing to see here. Man, isnt is oddly refreshing to even have the players that are coveted in the first place?

WRONG. They were given the oppurtunity to leave and took advantage of it.

Cbus, don't tell me you're going to be as unknowledgable as Mike Lombardi on the NFL Network. He kept talking about how the Cardinals 'let' Dansby get to FA. Um, we didn't LET Dansby do anything. He damn sure WANTED to go to FA and there is nothing you can do to stop that short of tagging him.

I know you're going crazy, my friend, but take a few days, breathe, and trust in Whiz, eh?
