I'm excited about this draft based on so many different scenarios for the Cardinals

We had a solid team last year, some say we overachieved and won't have the same results next year while some say we will do better this year! Drafting in the 20's is much better than the Top 5 and a lot less pressure.

The Cardinals are open to a number of different situations and draft picks they can take. Our biggest needs remain to be OLB/ILB, TE, OL, S, CB*, QB*, DE

*Not needed for current year, but needed for long term plan.

No one knows how the draft will shape out. I'm hoping someone like Barr, Lewan, Gilbert, Dennard or Donald fall to us. Some say we are set at CB, but AC is a one year rental. Gilbert & Dennard are stellar talents and i believe (obviously depending on whose available) would be hard to pass on.

What really intrigues me the most is wondering where the Cardinals have ranked the QB's.
-Bortles
-Bridgewater
-Manziell
-Carr

I've seen some mock drafts where all 4 are gone within the first 12 picks. I've seen another where the first QB wasn't taken till pick #27. I don't think that happens, but really no one knows but the teams perspectively. It'll be interesting to see where the Cardinals ranked these QB's and if they're available when we pick. Even more so if someone, such as Barr is available. I think you have to go Barr in this scenario due to the need for OLB and his skill level. But if options are Bridgewater, Bortles, Pryor, Clinton-Dix or Ebron I think Cardinals go QB.

I think the worst things teams do is put a rookie QB out day 1 as starter. It sets him up for failure. You bring in a talented QB to learn for a year, maybe 2 and it greatly increases his chances at becoming more successful. Although we do have needs and do need to improve, I'm very open to taking a QB if they're sitting there at 20 and having that future QB lined up. We don't know how he'll pan out. Could bust or could make us one of the teams to beat for the next 10 years.

This is the first draft in recent memory where there has been so much talk and the mock drafts are all over the board and no one really has any idea where anyone is going. I trust the Cardinals did their due diligence and will take a good pick for the better of the team. Maybe it's to win now, or maybe it's to look in the future. Guess we'll find out next week! But i'm excited.

GO BIRDGANG!

There's 4 teams that need QBs badly and 4 really good QBs. These teams have to decide whether it's worth the gamble to pass on one early and expect 1 to still be there when they get to pick again. The gamble is that someone outside of those 4 teams goes QB. Would Dallas really take Manziel if he slid to their pick? Would the Cardinals go QB? What about TB and the Titans? What about NE, they've been scouting them all. Are they looking for Brady's replacement?

Another factor might be what they think of the second tier of QBs; Mettenberger, Garrapolo, McCarron, and Savage. Are they okay with ending up with 1 of them as a consolation prize?

I think this QB class is deep. I'm sure a few will turn into "stars" and some will be solid starters, but it's a crapshoot really. I think teams picking higher than us are deciding if getting more talented players is worth it and hoping these 2nd tier QB's can lead them either now or in a year or so. Leaves teams in the late teen's or 20's a chance to snag a QB if they want one for the future.

I think this draft is the most interesting i've seen in a while. Especially with everyone being so different on their mock drafts. I wouldn't mind Bridgewater or Manziell or Bortles though.

I'm hoping we acquire additional pics and if possible another 1st next year which we could use to get a 1st round QB. Damn 49ers are going to rape this draft with their pics and the process started years ago. It's time we get some ammo and maybe someday a comp pic..

the future, as for CB it would seem that we are set for this year. Cro is on a one year deal, but even if he doesn't come back, we'll have his salary to get another FA next year. And if we can't there is next year's draft. But if Gilbert, Denard or Fuller are can't miss prospects, we could grab one and have him play Special Teams. Seems like we have bigger needs, though.
