The Cards lost, and despite making it farther than anyone expected, and besides being 2:37 away from winning the Super Bowl, I have a tough time thinking of the positives from the season. I still think of the missed tackles on the final play of the first half. I still think of Santonio Holmes' "catch" to win the Steelers the Super Bowl.

It'll be awhile before I think of last season in a happy manner.

What have you all done to get over it?

Think about how you felt before the season. I bet you didn't have Superbowl thoughts in your mind. Making the playoffs or even hosting a home playoff game were probably what you thought about. For me, the season was a success when we beat the Cowboys. Everything after that was gravy.

After we won the Atlanta game, I was pretty much in shock the rest of the playoffs.

We have had far worse seasons that last. You have to enjoy it while you can.

Each of us handle a loss in our own way...

For me, I have NOT watched the Super Bowl nor do I ever plan to. I treat losses during the regular season the same way. If we WIN I'll listen to NFL network, ESPN, etc. If we lose, I avoid them like the plague. To me, there's no reason to listen to something that's painful. So, what makes me feel better?? I'll pop in the DVD of the NFC Championship game. Re-live the final drive and watch my screen turn "red" with confetti. I'll think about all the WONDERFUL moments shared with my Cardinal family. I have Cardinal "goodies" on my wall THANKS to the thoughtfulness of some of the GREAT people on here. ...And get this. It looked like I was going to have to work and miss the pre-game to the Super Bowl. I had about (15) people willing to chip in $5.00 each so I could have the day off and not miss it. I ended up getting the time off anyway and declined the $$ but so many were willing to help me. The game will be forgotten to some degree BUT NOT what these people were willing to do for me. To me, WE are the WINNERS of the NFC CHAMPIONSHIP. NOT the losers of the Super Bowl. It's MY choice what I choose to dwell on. This year a West Division Championship banner as well as an NFL CHAMPIONSHIP banner will be displayed proudly in the rafters. It's a beginning... Perhaps, I'm in denial, BUT my heart feels a whole lot better. And here's a final thought. THIS could be our year to WIN it all. There's an excitement in the "wondering" if it could happen. ...And I may catch some flack for this BUT if we WON the Super BOWL (5) years in a row it would lose some of the lustre. YES! I would ENJOY it but human nature is to want MOST what you can't have. This could be the year. OUR YEAR!! Keep the Faith, my friend. GO CARDS!! :D

I still have the Super Bowl on the DVR and haven't been able to watch it yet. Pretty much the only highlight I can even stand to watch is Larry breaking away for the TD late in the fourth quarter.

+1.

I haven't rewatched it. Not sure if I will for a really long time.

When/until we win the Lombardi Trophy I'm not sure I will ever get over the game or how close we were to actually accomplishing our goal. I'm not over it, but it does sting less than it did on 2-1-09 and the few days afterwards.

I just remember how far we've come in the last two years.

I remember how awful we were for decades before that, clinging onto one playoff win.

I remember how Whiz came into this camp, and things started to change.

I remember being able to go to two post-season games, and watch my Cards win.

No, we didn't win it all. But, we have the draft coming up, and before you know it, we'll be looking at preseason again.

The past is the past. Let's look to the future.

It still pains me to watch it. Those SI commercials that come out of nowhere get me the most.

I try not to think about. I was at the game in Tampa and remember the celebration in the stands as the Cards took the lead with 2:37 left. I will never forget that moment as the mass of Steeler fans were quiet and shocked. Probably the proudest moment I have ever experienced as a Cards fan.

And yes . . . I really believed we were going to win it.

For me it is not that hard. I think back past the Whizenhunt era and remember all the futility of seasons past. The constant losing. The faillure to keep our good players. The inability to even intice FA's to come here to visit, let alone sign with us. The frustration of being outnumbered weekly by fans of the opponent in OUR OWN HOUSE. The necessity of having to draft for need.

After all that, --- how hard is it to deal with the loss of the best Super Bowl game ever, when virtually no one gave us a chance to even be there?

Me either, The 2 weeks before the game were awesome though with the Cards as the discussion topic on every Sports show. I wish that was all the time!

I went to the game also with a Steelers fan and when Fitz scored he said "I think I'm gonna throw up in my mouth" and recorded the whole scenario on my phone, TD and all. He saw how devasted I was after the game and didn't even say anything to me.

That's all pretty much true, and I agree with it.

And I would generally be cool with just making it to the superbowl, except for one thing.

There was one play from that game that is going to live in infamy. The longest play in superbowl history. A play that seemed to memoralize the cardinal's downtroden history.

Jesus Christ. A 300 pound defensive lineman rumbling 100 freaking yards as eight thousand cardinals tried and failed to bring him down.

That one hurt so bad, that if given the choice between losing to philly and seeing that highlight every time they talk about that superbowl, I would realy think long and hard about choosing the former.

Sorry if that makes me a weenie, but that game left a bad taste in my mouth just because of that play. And I think now the only thing that will erase it is a superbowl victory. It sucks.

Yeah I haven't watched any replays on youtube or anything eaither.... it was a great season and we lost the biggest game of the year in the final 2 min which is enough for any team to score in the sb :(.

Great season but no desire like most of you rewatch the sb just to heartbreaking especially the final 2 minutes I said so many f words after holmes caught that catch, and I almost punched a hole through my wall lol.... Looking forward to this upcoming year though especially with a new def cordinator. Well atleast we haven't lost 4 or whatever sb's like the bills have lol must suck for their fans
