We have officially hit the lowest point under the Whiz regime and the lowest point since we cracked open the doors at UoP. This team could be one of the worst teams the Cards have fielded in a long time. Seriously:

- With the exception of LSH, we have no other legit playmakers on offense... none. And that includes Fitz who is a great player, but not a game-breaking playmaker.

- We have NO playmakers on defense. NONE! We have no current player who can be counted on to help turn a game, change momentum or just make a key stop. PP has potential, however, he is getting picked on and schooled and simply has nothing to offer in defense. Nothing.

- Our coaching is as bad, if not worse than at any other time of my fandom (now 11 years). Horton needs to get his ass out of he press box and down on the field where he cna be a part of this misery (oops, I mean team). The playcalling is juvenile. The schemes are sophomoric. And the execution is of Bad News Bears quality!

- Our drafting can now be assessed as horrific! Seriously, what draftee since Whiz has been here can be viewed as a success? Even a mild success?? LSH perhaps... But IMO, he is it!!! I think Washington can become very good, however, under the current regime, I would not at all be surprised to see him burried and under-coached. Perhaps even let go or treaded one day and then eventually fulfill his promise on another team. Same for Campbell... The rest of the Whiz draftees.... well, I just don't have anything to say other than they are all either busts or bigtime disappointments...

- The FA's brought in during the Whiz regime fair no better than the draftees. Seriously, what FA brought in by Whiz has made an impact? I can't think of one...

- Kolb.... um, something is wrong. Something is very, very wrong. Yes, he has no time. Yes, he has nobody to throw to. However, he looks BAD. Very BAD. No pocket presence at all. Several poor throws missing WR's or TE's who are WIDE OPEN!! Whiz may very well have made his biggest mistake of all with Kolb...

- We came off a BYE today. Many teams who come off a BYE use that time to fully prepare for the upcoming game. Put in a few wrinkles. A few plays that you know have a great chance at success. What the HELL did we see out there today???? There was nothing to demonstrate that this BYE was used effectively. Nothing...

This year is over. Shot. Wasted. DONE! I honestly can't see this team winning 4 games this year. They are that bad... no, wait, they're worse...
And the worst part of it all is that I think the only solution is going to have be the firing of Whiz. I would say Graves as well, but... well... we know that won't happen... So, it will have to be Whiz. That hurst cuz I really believed in him. Man was I wrong... :bang:

Whiz will not be fired while making 6 mil a year. He will be here this year and at least next year. Graves? Not so sure.

Make the change NOW! Start over NOW! Get rid of the old guys who have nothing in the tank, including Porter, Haggans and Wilson and a few others.

How many years did Denny have left on his contract when he was fired?

Maybe nobody noticed, but one of the biggest off season moves the Cardinals made was to buy a restaurant in downtown Phoenix where Michael used to eat when he worked for the US Attorneys office. I hope the restaurant is doing better than the team. Maybe its more important.

The business sense is astounding.

My number one rule if I managed money for any rich athlete would be....NO RESTAURANTS. You can put your name on it for a fee, you can let them pay you to eat there, BUT DON'T EVER BUY ONE!

Maybe they'll hire Gordon Ramsay to run it, and ruin his career.

If it gets bad enough they will can Whiz this year. Whiz isn't enjoying this. He will agree to a settlement and walk away. Either way his contract shouldn't be used as an excuse. They will lose more in lost tickets and sponsor money than they would by canning his ace.

Good job 82. I agree.

My Cardinal's license plate is up for renewal. I'm wondering if I want to spend the extra $ to keep it.

Hmm... I need to check and see if "FIASCO" is available.

You mentioned issues with draft picks and free agents signed. Isn't that the responsibility of our crack GM Graves? Why blame everything on Whis when he have the worst GM in the NFL in Graves. I'm not happy with Whis but I sure would love to see the house cleaning start with getting in a GM that is a football person.

Whis is asking for those FAs...those are the guys he wants. Same with draft picks.

Graves sucks out loud for sure, no doubt, but he's doing what his coaches want. Which also is a sign of utter suck. He doesn't evaluate talent. He knows nothing about players. He negotiates contracts for people the coaches want.

Top to bottom, they all suck. Whis and crew for WANTING these asstastic players suck hugely. Graves for not having a clue wtf makes a real GM tick sucks too. But the PLAYER aspect? That's on Whis and crew.

Bidwill bought Tom's Tavern -- that's at the base of my company's building downtown at Central/Washington and are re-modeling it (not sure if it has re-opened yet -- I don't work out of the office a ton). I've been there before and personally I thought it was terrible. So, maybe it's fitting that it is now under the Bidwill umbrella, eh?

I agree that Whisenhunt has the rest of this year AND next year to turn this ship around. He had better work his tail off next offseason to get this team competitive again or he's probably gone after 2012 IMO.

What I saw yesterday was bad.

This is a team that is so deficient in talent that IMO it can't afford to trade away pro-bowl caliber cornerbacks [no matter how inconsistent] or decent running backs [no THT lost fumbles so far this season] for draft choices that rarely pan out and usually disappoint.

I predicted Steelers would win 35-17 so the bright side is the Cards did better than I thought they would....

Ugly, ugly season again....

My summary would go like this:

IMO a person with almost zero business sense inherits a team that craps out money due to revenue sharing and bumbles along for an eternity because there's no mechanism to force them to change.

The Cardinals are IMO an incarnation of the perils of socialism.

Hypothetical scenario for everyone, you're not uber wealthy, you have one massive asset that's the NFL Cardinals, you would like a chunk of change, what do you do?

Nothing really, just do less and you keep more money and your income stays the same for the most part no matter how sucky you are.
