In the loss I've gained a new respect for Urlacher

My first real up close and personal look at him, and I've decided this dude really is a beast man. You can't appreciate his talent until you see him play for a whole game. I got nervous when they were showing him on the sidelines, and he was pacing and talking to himself. I could sense we were in trouble. Contolled fury, and a immeasurable will to win is what I think makes him as good as he is. He is the centerpiece of that defense, and is every bit as good as advertised unlike Jeremy Shockey who I think has similar hype but nowhere near the heart. As much as I hate to do this, I tip my cap to him and that defense. I'll also keep it off for ours who played lights out yesterday. One day we'll be there as well.

He is a beast...and BTW, we passed on him to take Thomas Jones in 2000.

Cards also passed on a guy named Shaun Alexender while we are on the topic

I think Barry Sanders is the ONLY RB in NFL history that could run behind this line...so Alexander would have been a bust for us too.

But Urlacher...

TCF:

IIRC, Dave MacGinnis and others on the coaching staff wanted Brian Urlacher over Thomas Jones, but got overruled on draft day. At least one call that Coach Mac got right...

Did anyone notice Urlacher right after the Bears scored the go ahead td? The camera zoomed in on him on the sideline and you could read his lips, "We've got this now!" That's the killer instinct the Cards lack. Urlacher knew that as soon as they got the lead, the game was over.

Yep...he knew it and so did all the Cardinal fans. It was really weird...you could just feel it.

Loved the shots fo Leinart and Urlacher at the line...classic.

i must admit i always thought urlacher was a tad overrated..... but after last night urlacher was on a mission somewhat of a linebacker god. how could we not account for the one person who was owning us play after play?

Yeah, BUT . . . Matt marched the team down the field and if Rackers hadn't had an uncharacteristic <40 yard miss - He'd have been W R O N G !
