And this has been an issue all season. Why is it when we have a 3rd and 10 or more, the pass plays called are only good for 5 yards tops but on 3rd and 2 or 1 he goes for the bomb?

3rd and short is ideal for the bomb.

just sayin...it is the balls to the wall play call and I love the hell out of it.

My biggest issue with the play calling was earlier in the game (second possession maybe) when Lindley had moved the Cards down into FG range and it was third and long. You already essentially have 3 points in the bag. Coach calls for a passing play which is fine if it's Palmer back there, but it's Lindley. Sure enough, it gets picked, bye-bye three points.

Run the ball and take the points.

Again, I'm only saying this because it's Lindley under center. Points are hard to come by with him.

You can't play for field goals, and you have to trust your QB to make good decisions. It is on him. You can't coach scared. You have to trust your players to execute. You will never hit any big plays if you don't try any.

You can (and should) when you have Lindley at QB.

I agree with everything you said except we are talking about Ryan Lindley. The guy with a career passer rating of 46.9 and 8,000 interceptions. Play to your strengths, not your weaknesses and take the points.

What about punting instead of trying for the long field goal. That was the difference in this game. If he doesn't trust the kicker to make a clutch FG then get a different kicker.
