Bill Pullman - worst president ever... His big speech made me want to jump off a cliff. Althought it fit with the rest of the cheese in the movie.

Randy Quaid - Was this a Sci-Fi movie or a sad attempt at comedy

Plot = Completely stupid

The only thing it had going for it was special affects and even they weren't that great asside from the Capitol building being blown up.

Although I did like Will Smith but even he couldn't carry this turd.

Vivica Fox was nice in this. It has a few cool moments. Doesn't stand test of time.

Independence Day was totally mindless feel-good rah-rah fluff. In that genre, it was one of the best ever. Now -- as a sci-fi flick? Sux. As a drama? Sux. As an action film? Sux.

I watch it almost every year.

Mulli watches this every ID weekend on TNT. He told me. It's his tradition.

It made money, quite a bit of it. It pleased fans, quite a few of them. All movies should suck this much. There's nothing wrong with knowing your audience and making a movie that pleases them.

Hell yeah! Well put.

2012 was worse...

Indeed, but it was still fun. It's all about expectations.

I don't watch the movie every year, but I do watch the speech every year on Independence Day.

Despite it's many flaws, I thought 2012 was entertaining - especially since it's based on a true story.
