SOUTHAMPTON, England — England tightened its grip on the fourth test by reducing India to 46-3 at lunch on the fourth day at Southampton on Sunday, leaving the tourists needing another 199 runs to win and avoid a series defeat. India were set a target of 245 after England was bowled out for 271 early on day 4, having added just 11 runs to its overnight score.
