BLOOMINGTON — The Indiana women's basketball team won't have to sweat out Selection Sunday like the men's team, but there is plenty of intrigue surrounding their seeding in the bracket and where they will be headed.

The Hoosiers won't get to host the opening rounds at Assembly Hall this year — this will be the first time since 2018-19 they won't be a top four seed in the NCAA Women's Tournament — and they will have to visit the campus of one of the top 16 seeds.

"I feel really good about our group as far as competitive energy level, experience, all of it," Moren said after IU was eliminated from the Big Ten Tournament. "We'll be ready."

The Selection Sunday show will air at 8 pm. on ESPN, and here are our predictions for where IU will be headed in this year's NCAA Women's Tournament:

Where will Indiana women's basketball land in the NCAA Tournament bracket?

Herald Times' Michael Niziolek: The majority of prominent bracketologists have IU falling somewhere between a No. 8 and No. 10 seed. There's arguments to be made in favor of both extremes — the Hoosiers have more Quad 1 wins (four) than most of the teams in their part of the bracket, but they have the most overall losses of any team in the top 40 of the NET Rankings and suffered a Quad 3 loss.

In the end, the committee ends up splitting the difference and making Indiana a No. 9 seed in this year's NCAA Tournament, and it will head to either Columbia, South Carolina, or Austin, Texas, for a potential showdown against a No. 1 seed in the second round.

IndyStar's Chloe Peterson: IU is looking to be a No. 10 seed in the NCAA Tournament this season — multiple bracketology sites place the Hoosiers between the No. 8 and No. 10 line.

What sticks out against the Hoosiers is their 4-8 Quad 1 record, as well as a Quad 3 loss to Butler early in the season.

Still, the Hoosiers have done enough to be solidly in the field, especially with avenging their loss to Oregon earlier this year in the Big Ten Tournament. The competitive loss to USC, a projected No. 1 seed, in the tournament quarterfinals should also help their case.
