The Indians made a pitch to Ubaldo Jimenez and protected themselves in case the right-hander leaves town. The club gave Jimenez a $14.1 million qualifying offer on Monday, which he can consider as he starts to talk with other teams. Jimenez, who bounced back from a 9-17 record in 2012 to win 13 games this season, has until Nov. 11 at 5 p.m. EST to accept Cleveland's offer. If he signs elsewhere, the Indians would receive an extra pick at the end of the first round in June's amateur draft.
