The Indians have signed manager Terry Francona to a two-year contract extension through 2018. Francona's previous contract was set to expire in 2016. The 55-year-old Francona, who won two World Series titles with Boston, has led Cleveland to consecutive winning seasons for the first time since 2000-01. The Indians have gone 177-147 under Francona, and they made the playoffs in 2013 as a wild-card team.
