Here are The State Journal-Register's athlete of the week nominees.

The poll closes at noon on Friday. Information about the nominees is below. Litchfield's Max Leitschuh won last week's poll.

Shelby Ashcraft, Pana, softball


The senior walloped two grand slams and finished 2-for-2 with eight RBIs and four runs scored as Pana defeated Ramsey 25-11 in four innings on Thursday.

Tucker Dennis, Auburn, baseball​


The first baseman scored the game-winning run on an error as Auburn plated three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to rally past Carlinville 5-4 on Monday. Dennis tied the game with a two-run double with the bases loaded. He finished with two hits.

Bennett Fretueg, Rushville-Industry, baseball​


The first baseman popped a three-run, walk-off homer in the bottom of the seventh inning as the Rockets rallied for seven runs to beat Macomb 12-11 on Friday. Fretueg also had a three-run homer in the third and finished with six RBIs.

Kamryn Hoffman, Springfield High, girls soccer​


The junior forward scored two goals in a 5-2 win over Chatham Glenwood on Tuesday.

Colton Ladage, Chatham Glenwood, boys track and field​


The junior raced to second place in the Class 3A boys 60-meter dash at the Illinois Top Times meet. He finished in 6.92 seconds, behind Cody Muhlbauer's 6.88 out of Normal West. He also won the 4x200 relay with teammates Blake Lehnen, Trystin Decatoire and Larry Wills.

Bailey Leach, Pleasant Plains, girls soccer​


The junior forward rallied the Cardinals ahead with two goals in a 3-1 win over Sacred Heart-Griffin on Wednesday. Hailey Sobieski provided the insurance goal.

Kaydi Miller, Havana, softball​


The junior cranked out three home runs — including an inside-the-park homer — in a 12-2 win over Deer Creek-Mackinaw on Friday. She twice homered to center field and finished 4-for-4 with five RBIs and four runs.

McKenna Norris/Kenzie Wieland, Sacred Heart-Griffin, softball​


The utility player delivered the go-ahead home run in the eighth inning of a 4-3 victory over Lincoln on Tuesday. Wieland totaled 17 strikeouts in the win.

Maylee Payne, Springfield High (Co-op), softball​


The junior from Lanphier uncorked the go-ahead RBI double to complete the comeback in the sixth inning en route to a 3-2 win over Petersburg PORTA/A-C Central on Friday.

Chaz Oberkfell, Gillespie, boys track and field​


The junior ran 9 minutes, 27.67 seconds to win the 1A boys 3200-meter run at the Illinois Indoor Top Times Meet. He also took third in the 1600 in 4:29.57

Isaac Rennecker, Petersburg PORTA, boys track and field​


The junior claimed the 1A boys triple jump at the Illinois Indoor Top Times Meet. He achieved a distance of 43 feet, 11 ¼ inches.

Carson Wort, Pawnee, baseball​


The senior ripped a walk-off triple with one out in the bottom of the seventh inning, and Pawnee won its fourth straight game in a 2-1 victory over Nokomis on Thursday. Torsten Polistina walked and scored on Wort’s triple.
