The IndyCar Series will hand out championship points at the Thermal Club for the first time when it races on the 17-turn, 3.067-mile road course near Palm Springs, California. Alex Palou is seeking a third consecutive series championship and fourth in five years, and he won the season opener at St. Petersburg, Florida. He also won a non-points-paying race at Thermal in 2024.

Race winner: After watching three-time series champion Alex Palou run away with the 2024 feature at Thermal — and knowing his recent permanent road course prowess (nine podiums in his last 13 starts, including six wins) — it’s hard to make an argument for anyone else.
Something you might not expect: Rinus VeeKay will rattle off a second consecutive top-10 finish for Dale Coyne Racing, proving his effort at St. Pete was no fluke.
