In a thread in the Cardinals section Alan needed a pep talk so Maddogkf responed with:

What?! Over? Did you say over? NOTHING is over until WE
decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?
HELL, NO!

So what are you're favorite inspirational speeches from movies, serious or funny?

I thought Al Pacino's last speech to the tribunal at Chris O'Donnell's school in Scent of a Woman was brilliant.

Sylvester Stalone in Rocky IV after he beats the Russian boxer.

Just kidding. I laugh every time I see that movie and the ending.

How about Gilbert's rousing speech during the football rally in Revenge Of The Nerds?

"Today . . . we celebrate . . . our Independence Day!"

Cheesy movie, but the speech still gives me goosebumps. ;)

Without doubt the 'Inches Speech' from Pacino at the end of Any Given Sunday.

The Braveheart rant is pretty cool too. "They'll never take our.... FRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEDDDOOOOOOOOMM!!!"

The monologue that Bob Murray has in Caddyshack about being the caddy for the Dali Lama - I laugh so hard everytime I see it. And he's poking dude in the neck with a pitchfork while he's talking - classic.

Also - Oscar Schindler's speech at the end of Schindler's List was amazing - I loved it.

If it was so classic, wouldn't you have remembered that it's BILL Murray, not Bob Murray?? :D

Yeah, that's mine.

I also like the Breakfast Club at the end when the prinicpal is reading the paper about who the students think they are. "You see us how you want to see us."
Loved it!

What about Ronny’s speech at the end of Can’t Buy Me Love? He got the awesome 80’s clap for that one.

Ray, people will come Ray. They'll come to Iowa for reasons they can't even fathom. They'll turn up your driveway not knowing for sure why they're doing it. They'll arrive at your door as innocent as children, longing for the past. Of course, we won't mind if you look around, you'll say. It's only $20 per person. They'll pass over the money without even thinking about it: for it is money they have and peace they lack. And they'll walk out to the bleachers; sit in shirtsleeves on a perfect afternoon. They'll find they have reserved seats somewhere along one of the baselines, where they sat when they were children and cheered their heroes. And they'll watch the game and it'll be as if they dipped themselves in magic waters. The memories will be so thick they'll have to brush them away from their faces. People will come Ray. The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again. Oh... people will come Ray. People will most definitely come.
