They say insiders claim that there is significant "confusion" on the 49er defense because Nolan isn't letting the DC do his job and they keep changing each others calls.

They say

They say a source reports that Ravens players said they could hear Simms "whimpering" after a couple of hits yesterday. They then brought up the conflict between Steve Young and Phil Simms when Steve said Simms might not have the "mental toughness" to deal with the "information overload" of the NFL after being reared in a "laissez-faire" atmosphere. Phil Simms responded in part with this quote: "You can say whatever you want about my son. The one thing that will get me mad — and I'll stand in your face about it — is about toughness."

And the one I missed, apparently Tom Jackson on air in ESPN's pregame show yesterday said to Michael Irvin "are you ********?" Jackson has issued a formal apology and ESPN says it's a done deal. Apparently he was apologizing to anybody who thought his use of the word ******** was insensitive, not to Irvin for calling him it.

:D

I had to backspace to relisten to that part because I was laughing so much at Jackson's question. But let's get real, Irvin's answer to Berman's question was ********. Who has more at stake in the Sunday night game: Peyton or Eli? Irvin's answer was Eli because Peyton is experienced enough to bounce back after a defeat.
