We can afford to lose Mathieu on defense more than Peterson
Sadly, the same thought occurred to me. After his first knee injury, and the way he bounced back from it, it was unthinkable to use Mathieu on punt returns again. But the way he's playing now on defense... might as well get him involved and see whether he can still be electric on returns, as unlikely as it may be.

Always hard to watch great players slip to mediocrity due to injury.

Nobody to blame, just sad.

I do wonder how many more weeks of subpar play it will take before Baker takes his spot. Based on BA's comments about him not playing well this week, it may not be much longer.

It really is a shame, he does seem slower and is having trouble covering the slot. If he can't do that anymore I am not sure he can be an nfl starter, because his free safety skills are not good. I wish I could see him improving, but at this point it feels like his days may be numbered in a Cards Uniform.

Penthouse one day, doghouse the next.

The Badger is one game away from a host of 'eating crow' posts.

Dudes been in the doghouse for the overwhelming majority of the last 1.5 seasons. 1 game won't make up for mediocrity at best we've watched lately.

The real disappointment from me isn't even his cover skills. I expected a drop off with the injuries he's suffered. What bums me out is that he was his tackling technique. Even for a little guy he excelled at wrapping up.

Now he either tries to blow guys up and bounce off them or waits for contact and gets rolled.

Probably practicing as back up in case Kerwynn gets hurt during the game. PP has a sore leg and they aren't putting him back there this week.
