internet alternatives?

i am getting ready to move and i was wondering, i'm not hooking up a phone line in my new house (cell phones) is there an alternative to cox internet that doesn't require a phone line.

you don't need a phone for Cox internet.

So the answer is no. If you don't want Cox your other option, besides dial up/dsl, is to take it in the ass and get Satellite Internet.

So you can get some Cox or take it in the ass.

Tough choice but same difference really.

Don't do Satellite internet (hughsnet).... dumbest, slowest and worst Customer service ever. It's like 100 bucks a month too

and the fact that wireless is usually in the $50-60 range, it is absolutely ******** to have Satellite, when you have the availability of cable,dsl,wireless.

Hell, you can almost get a T1 for $100 a month these days.

how is the sprint wireless speed compared to cox?

About 20 times slower. You are paying for the ability to be able to connect with your laptop virtually anywhere in the Valley.

I'm doing satellite internet (wildblue) for $49 a month and am very pleased with the performance and the customer service. It's 512k down, 128k up with a max of 7.5 gig a month. Unless you're downloading movies or other huge files, it's very good.

Wireless doesn't work for me where I live and quite frankly, I don't think I'd choose it over what I have now.
