I'll get this error message, then it will say it has recovered the page, displays it, and life goes on. It's more of a nuisance than anything else.

I googled it, saw that Microsoft has some stuff on it and (laughably enough), when I hit the link, I got the "Internet Explorer Has Stopped Working" error. :D Go figure

Anyway, there's a lot of blah-blah from MS and there doesn't seem to be any magic fix I could find. I just wondered if anyone here had experience and success with this little PITA.

I'm running Vista SP2 and IE 8

Thanks!!!

I don't know about this specific error, but I installed IE8 the other day and after that it kept saying that it was operating with disabled add-ons. So when I checked the add-on list, they, of course, were all enabled. I did a little research and tried reinstalling my Google toolbar and that fixed it. Hopefully your problem is just something stupid like that, but it sounds like you might need to do your research in Firefox to fix your IE problem. Ugh. What a mess.

You can try resetting the browser settings.

Under Internet Options, on the advanced tab there is a reset button.

It is why I still run IE6 here at work.

Either that, or Firefox.

I'll try the reset button and let ya know if it works....

Actually, I'm a Firefox fan most of the time, but I also have to get on a VPN from time to time and have to use IE for it. EEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!

I had a computer that would not run IE. I reformated the computer 3 times. Each time IE would crash after a couple of days and wouldn't open at all. I installed Firefox and it has worked fine every since.

suggest you grab the IE Tab plug in for firefox.

That lets you do the few things you need IE for
