internet problems (streaming netflix)

so I have the 7mbps plan with century link.

I can run 3 xboxs all playing online without a hitch.

Yet, I cannot stream in more than one room at a time. The second unit lags, freezes and is a waste of time.

I cancelled cable as I felt it was a waste of money after subscribing to HULU and Netflix but now when I go to bed and turn on tv, it kills my daughters movie shes watching in bed.

anyone else stream to multiple tvs around the house? any issues? Buddy has cox "18mbps" plan but says max he gets is 3.5mbps.

You need more than 7mbps...If you are trying to view HD streaming, 7 isn't enough for multiple outlets. Do they have a slightly higher plan, like 10-15mbps? I have the 50mbps plan with Cox and I run 3 computers and Netflix all at the same time with no lag at all.

Oh, and with my 50mbps plan, I actually average about 65mbps on the download...and about 8 on the upload. I used to have Uverse, which I loved, but they only offer 1mbps on the upload and that was just way to slow for uploading my pictures.

They do not offer faster internet than what I have, at least in my neighborhood. I guess I may have to go to cox.

On cox website I see an 18 and a 27 mbps plan. I assume 18 would do it if 7 does one roku. A concern also is the upload is crappy and may effect the xbox gaming but that is less of a concern these days than the television capabilities. Cox of course lists no prices online, just that the first month is free. I hate their gimmicky marketing. Will have to call them today.

I agree with the above, don't think that is fast enough. I have 50 MBPS now but even when I had 20 MBPS, I don't recall having streaming issues when streaming 3 things at once.

thx for comments. anyone have cox 18mbps plan and have no problems? I may move to it but I dont want to make the switch and have nothing change. This has been the ONLY problem I have had w my carrier in 5 years.

The 18 should work for you. HD can take 10-12 mbps to stream effectively.

I get great streaming one one tv with 7mb so im assuming it would do just curious if anyone has tried it with that specific cox plan
