The Iowa Hawkeyes opened up their 2025 NCAA Tournament run with a resounding victory over 11th-seeded Murray State, 92-57.
Sixth-seeded Iowa shot 56.2% from the field and 47.1% from 3-point range while limiting Murray State to just 30.6% shooting and only 16.7% shooting from beyond the arc. The Hawkeyes registered a new program single-game NCAA Tournament record with 28 assists in the win.
That was spearheaded by senior guard Lucy Olsen's new career-high 12 assists. Olsen also registered her first double-double with the Hawkeyes by adding 12 points.

Four other Hawkeyes finished in double figures, led by freshman center Ava Heiden's career-high 15 points. Junior forward Hannah Stuelke and senior guard Sydney Affolter each scored 11 points and freshman guard Taylor Stremlow added 10.
As Iowa advances to the round of 32, the Hawkeyes will meet No. 3 seed Oklahoma. The Sooners rolled past 14th-seeded Florida Gulf Coast, 81-58, as junior center Raegan Beers scored 25 points and grabbed 18 rebounds. Oklahoma set a new single-game NCAA Tournament record with 72 rebounds.
