I'm up for an upgrade on March 8.

I had IPhone 3GS on AT&T, loved the phone, hated the carrier. I couldn't wait to switch back to Verizon and did so in June of 2010. I got the Droid Incredible. It was the worst POS phone I ever got.

I didn't like the OS, the battery life or anything about it. The phone was buggy and I was constantly doing battery pulls.

I upgraded to a iphone4 in July of 2011 and swore off anything droid ever again because the Incredible was so awful.

Tonight I check my upgrade date and started playing with the note. I dig it and its huge. I don't make many phone calls so that's not a big thing for me.

I like iPhones, but wouldn't call myself a fanboy and know quite a few people who also had problems with droids. I want the iPhone 5, but this note has piqued my interest.

Dies anyone have the Note2 and what are the advantages and disadvantages of it? Thanks.

Thanks Shane, this confirms what I've heard all along regarding the SII

The S3 and Note 2 are amazing.

Still though the iPhone I would say is a more consistant experience and generally has better battery life due to better control over apps.

Andriod phones are generally more capable and configurable but also more technical to operate and not as consistant across devices.

March huh?

By then you will start to hear about the Galaxy S4. Might want to wait till May IMO when it comes out.

As for the two phones you listed..... Apple sucks and the Note is too big for me. And I'm a big guy.

How about the Droid Razr Maxx HD? Better battery life than anything else, 64mb sd card slot, Jelly Bean, Gorilla Glass, & Kevlar backing.

Im getting the Razor Maxx HD when my contract is up. Nothing like smart phone that you can talk text surf the net and watch videos all day long and still have battery left at the end of the day.

MESA! :thud:
HATE, HATE, HATE my SIII. I'm on my third one since Nov 1, and Verizon is at the point that they just won't deal with me anymore, nor I them. When our contracts are up, I'm gone.

Verizon SWEARS they've never heard of my problem, that it's not the phone, it's my "line". Maybe someone more tech savvy than me can explain to me how a cell phone has a "line" but until then, it's the stupidest thing I've ever heard.

3 seconds of googling proved to me that it's the phone, and Verizon is full of crap:

http://www.samsunggalaxys3forum.com/forum/samsung-galaxy-s3-audio/898-poor-call-quality.html

(this is just one of several links I found on the subject).

Hate them, hate the phone.

Wish I never got rid of my Droid X3.

I'd have to vote Galaxy Note over iPhone 5. I bought my wife the iPhone 5 and it seems very plain and kinda boring. Androids have definitely surpassed iPhone with jelly bean, larger screens, and choices.

Personally I have the RAZR HD (non-maxx) and still have great battery life, expandable SD card slot, and 4.8" HD screen. And the phone is built like a tank, no scratches with no case (unlike the wife's iPhone 5 which is made of aluminum backing.)

Maybe they meant a bad production batch instead of line. It's more common for early production batches to have problems, but later ones could have problems too.

I've got the Incredible2 and haven't had any major problems.

Go into a store and play with both. Don't spend 1 or 2min, spend 15min playing with them. As someone else suggested by march there will be a new batch of phones. Heck, the 5S should also be right around the corner.

Thought of looking at a win8 phone?

Awesome responses thanks everyone and thanks for the heads up about the S4.

I'm not sure when the 5s will come out, but I'm thinking it's going to be at least a year.

Either way I think I'm buying the pebble smart watch this spring to go with whatever phone I get.

I have an SII and love it. Samsung anything over Apple anything.

Same here.. Long battery life. Flows smooth.. No force closes.. No complaints at all.. I have no desire to upgrade to the SIII.. The SIV will have to have some phenomenal new features to make me want to upgrade..

Never had an issue with any iphone. does everything I need, and more. Perfect size, not like carrying a laptop around like the Droid or other mega phones.

Make sure you really want one. I have a few friends that bought one (or similar ones to this) and they fell out of love with them quickly. It became more of a novelty than a real life time-saver.

I have the iPhone 5 and I have no complaints. It just depends on what you want to do with your phone. I wanted mine to fit comfortably in my front pocket. My droid did not do so.

Well I opted for the iPhone 5. It made sense the note felt too big, and I have a few hundred of dollars already invested in apps.

As for the 5, I love it. I just wish it was wider, but I can dig it. It's a great phone and it takes awesome pictures. I got it Thursday night and took the train to Manhattan on Friday.
I started the trip at 11 am with 100% battery and got back home at 11:30 with 14% battery left. I didn't use my phone a whole lot, but spent a lot of time in the subways which I imagine decreases the battery faster.

A picture I took with my 5

S4 was announced on the 14th. Amazing specs that each the iPhone's lunch. Sorry about your app investments CT. Apple really knows how to keep their customers locked in to their devices.

Some of the S4 highlights:

  1. With the S4, forget dual-core and quad-core. The Samsung Exynos 1.6GHz processor has a whopping eight cores! Amazing.
  2. You also get 2GB of RAM, which is twice the amount in the iPhone 5.
  3. The Super OLED screen has a stunning 441ppi, which is more than the iPhone 5 but less than the HTC One. It's extremely sharp for a Full HD 1,920 x 1,080 display.
  4. 13 Megapixel Camera
This isn't even half of the major advances that the phone has made in mobile technology.

In short...... It's insane.
