Heck..they should have somehow got boston to new york..he would love the night life there..and it would not involve a draft pick..as many of the above guys do..

Yes it it only makes me angrier about Boston, the way Graves handled that was a pathetic joke.

They also reportedly contacted MIN about trading for Moss:

Deal With Vikes Gathers No Moss
Jets' Bradway had 'casual interest' in trade

Randy Moss to the Jets? It's intriguing, especially with the possibility that the Jets won't match the Washington Redskins' $35-million offer sheet to Laveranues Coles.

So intriguing, in fact, that the Jets actually inquired about trading for the Minnesota Vikings' star receiver, Newsday has learned.

Jets general manager Terry Bradway said the team had expressed "some casual interest" about trading for Moss, and a source familiar with the Jets' situation said the team inquired about Moss' availability late last week. The Vikings promptly told them there was no interest in trading Moss, who signed an eight-year, $75- million contract two years ago. Bradway said the Jets have called several teams to gauge their interest in a trade for a receiver, but at this point, "I would say a trade isn't likely."

Bradway said he still hasn't decided whether to match the Redskins' offer sheet or let Coles go, in which case the Jets would get the Redskins' No. 13 overall pick as compensation.

If Bradway doesn't feel there is a suitable option to replace Coles immediately, there is a chance the Jets will match the offer to keep him. "We're playing out all the scenarios, and one of those is to match the offer," said Bradway, who has until 4 p.m. on Wednesday to decide on Coles.

The Jets are set to meet today with former Chargers receiver Curtis Conway and will meet tomorrow with Philadelphia Eagles free agent Antonio Freeman. The Jets met with Seattle Seahawks restricted free agent receiver Darrell Jackson on Friday, but the Jets would have to give up a first-round draft pick (22nd overall) to get the receiver away from Seattle.

Bradway and other Jets officials have talked about the possibility of trading for one of several top receivers, with Moss at or near the top of that list. But the Vikings aren't dealing. They gave Moss $8 million on March 1 as part of the $18 million bonus he agreed to in 2001.

Jets quarterback Chad Pennington certainly wouldn't mind the idea of throwing to Moss; the two were teammates at Marshall. But at this point, it's not going to happen, not unless the Jets put together a package of players and/or draft picks the Vikings can't refuse. That doesn't appear likely, because Bradway doesn't like to deal away multiple picks, and any team trading a player has to take a salary-cap hit.

Jags Sign Douglas. Coveted free- agent defensive end Hugh Douglas signed a five-year, $27-million contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Douglas, who had visited the Giants, had 12 1/2 sacks for the Philadelphia Eagles last season.

It's been mentioned but it would be interesting to see what the Jets would do if we offered them #6 for their #13 and #22 assuming they let Coles walk, which they just announced they will.

The Cards could then offer the #13 and say Thomas Jones, to the Ravens sitting at #10. The Ravens know they won't get Andre Johnson or Rogers at 10, maybe they want a QB, odds are at 13 they could still get Kelley Washington or most of the players they are considering.

That would leave us hopefully able to get Robertson at #10(iffy but possible) or another DT. At 22 if we're lucky Kelley Washington is still there, if not maybe Taylor Jacobs, or a DE/DT.
In round 2 we hope to get Faine or a QB.

As to why would Baltimore want Jones, they probably wouldn't but they might want a backup to Jamal Lewis given his history of injuries.

I tend to agree that's why I said iffy but the highest I've seen Robertson projected to go is 8. All it takes is 2 teams pulling a surprise and he could be there at 10. He won't be there at 13 that's for sure.

I'm not sold on McDougal he certainly LOOKS like a pass rusher but I'm not convinced he should go in the first 15 picks.

We won't trade down anyways looks like the Jets want Conway and will probably use both picks themselves to get another WR(Washington I'm guessing) and whatever else they want.

I am a bit disappointed that the Cards have not availed themselves to the WR on the market. We need another wideout to replace Boston - everyone knows that. I wonder why there is no movement from the FO on this?

It could happen, but I think it's highly unlikely that he slips past the Vikings at #7.

The reason I want McDougal in this scenario is because the draft is extremely deep at DT and IMO only have two impact DEs (Suggs and McDougal). So you take McDougal at #13, because an impact DT will be there at #22.

Good point on the Vikings they desperately wanted Ryan Sims last year and Robertson is Sims clone, just better IMHO.

For some reason I have thought the Vikings would be taking another OL either Gross or Kwame Harris but you're right Robertson or Kennedy make a lot more sense for them they need someone to play next to Hovan and he has to be a 310+ pounder for the same reason we need someone like that next to Bryant. They have the slasher they need the space eater.

If the Jets offered us #13 and their #53(Second Rounder) for the #6 overall pick I would still jump on it.

We need all the help we can get! It sure would be nice to stock pile a couple of early round picks.

Sorry but if we are getting 2 #'1s from the Jets then dammit we are trading one of em and getting KGB instead of Holliday.

I thought we learned we couldn't because the #1 has to be your original pick? If we trade the #6, we can't sign an RFA, someone posted that the other day didn't they?

ryanweb: I brought this up before as a plan..but I found out later that you cannot offer a worse pick than what your actual pick you received based on the prior seasons performance...i.e. the cardinals could only offer picks 1 - 6 to green bay...But keep in mind that green bay can negotiate this - but the rule is that the pick has to be beeter than your original pick (ie no trading down to give them a lower pick). fox or clayton was on kdus and pointed this out to the hosts.. Again..it would be up to green bay to negotiate this..
