As Arch Manning does more interviews and more media for NIL sponsors, it is becoming clear that the new Texas Longhorns quarterback is pretty funny. From joking with the Longhorns press corps, to doing bits for sponsors, UT's new QB1 is showing the charisma that many think will propel him to superstardom someday.

In Manning first media availability of the spring, he spoke with the old guard of the Longhorns press corp about why he stuck with Texas and how he's been getting connected with UT's young wide receivers. Manning also revealed he loves to trash talk with the guys on defense. "It's just kind fun in practice to talk a little crap to them," he said. "That's just makes practice more fun."

It definitely seems Manning likes to have fun. He seems to have a quick wit and will joke with the old guard of the Texas beat writers, like Kirk Bohls who has covered Texas for decades. When he asked Arch about his new apparel sponsorship with Vuori, Manning immediately shot back, "We gotta get you some drip." The press all had a hearty laugh at the multilayered joke as Manning wins them over a little more.

Humor, charisma and leadership are inherently tied together. “The leadership … This guy has got a charismatic, some ‘it’ about him,” Texas coach Steve Sarkisian recently told Colt McCoy on the Clean Pocket podcast. “You can feel it. ... He’s got something about him that guys gravitate to. That’s always a great thing to have as a quarterback.”

The fact Manning is part of a celebrity family adds to his Q-rating, but his family also has added to his sense of humor. Peyton and Eli Manning have both hosted Saturday Night Live and host the "Manningcast" on ESPN. Arch's dad Cooper does man-on-the-street comedy bits for Fox around the Super Bowl. Even his grandfather Archie got into the action in a bit with Uber.

Arch's sense of humor is not only great for the team, but sponsors are going to love it. Manning, who is majoring in Communication and Leadership, has seemed ready and able to do funny bits with sponsors, like trying to see how far he could throw a marshmallow for Red Bull.

In GQ's profile on the Texas QB, Manning was charming and funny with almost every answer, especially when discussing his guilty pleasures. "I like those cookie cakes from Great American Cookies," he said. "Fire! Dip that in milk, it’s gas."

As a part of Manning’s announcement of his NIL deal with Red Bull, he sat down with Lucas Brody, one half of the Broadcast Boys Podcast, who asked Arch some questions he's never been asked before. The interview is entertaining.

If Manning is as good on the field as those close to the Longhorns program think he will be, and he shows off this humorous, charismatic side of himself on a bigger, national stage then Manning might be one of the biggest stars in sports soon. And Longhorns fans will eat it up.
