Is Casey Jacobson more of a SG or more of a SF?

Casey is not ideally suited for either position. He is a bit slow for an SG and a bit short for SF. Ok, maybe quite a bit. :D

I have had the impression that he was more effective shooting from the corner than the wing and was better at grabbing rebounds than you'd expect (he has good anticipation). Unfortunately, his lack of mid range game means that he has a hard time getting clear looks when being guard by guys four to five inches tall than him.

If Casey developed a 15 foot pull up jumper, he would be a much more effective offensive player. He is sound on defense, but his lack of quickness keeps him from being special.

SG, definitely. He has no business playing SF. Actually the Suns have used him a fair amount at PG, and he has held his own there. He isn't a bad ball handler and sees the court better than Barbosa (although of course isn't anywhere near as quick).

He was a kind of Maverick's style "point forward", but I agree he was effective at bringing the ball up the court and did not throw the ball away too much. I could see him develop into a more full fledged backup PG. He seems to be fairly intelligent and works hard, which are the primary requirements.

Definitely a SG. I really don't see anything that resembles a SF in him. (Especially not when compared to the teams other SF's and SG's)

I think he is a great bench player and should keep sitting on the bench. I am not a CJ fan. Trade him.

For what? Only way Casey gets moved at this point in his career is to fasciliate salaries.

Honestly, I think he might wind up more than people give him credit. He has a good feel for the game, and his shooting really came on last year. If he would have qualified, I think he would have been top 10 in 3pt FG% (don't feel like looking it up).

He is hte type of player you let develop cheap on your bench, play him sporadically throughout his first few years. I bet he comes on as a good role player this year or the next.

The coachs said he got his minutes because he played good defense.

I expect that after playing for two years that next year he will be a much better shooter. He has always been a good shooter at all levels.

Casey has lots of hustle and is a good defender with nice three pointer. Look who was taken after him in the draft thou... TASHAUN PRINCE! Damn, imagine if we had him instead of Jacobson.

This game is pointless. Every year there is someone taken after the middle of the first round that is vastly better than most of the guys taken ahead of him. Scouting is an inexact science. Prince was a late first round jewel that a lot very good teams passed on.

However, he might not have been that big a deal in Phoenix. The Suns have never been interested in wing guys who are better at defense than at scoring. Prince did not show much during 2002-03 until the playoffs and he might have just ridden the bench in Phoenix.

Talent isn't enough. Being on the right team with the right system is often just a important.

Now if they had listed to ME, they would have taken Boozer in the first round and still have him under contract.
