Is one reason that Sarver is doing this is to make sure nobody offers JJ a Max Cont?

When someone offers a player a max contract does that means they tie up their money right? Well maybe Sarver feels that we can sign JJ cheaper if people know we are serious in signing him? I was kind of interested in that Center guy :( :)

well its a hellava hole to dig to make sure teams think you are serious. what would you rather have:

1.) a team that has a bench and have to match something close to the max (JJ wont be offered max no matter what).

2.) a team with no bench, fans that are pissed and have no idea whats' going on, and making teams think you are serious about JJ.

I kind of doubt it. Unless everyone in the Suns front office has gone nuts, what I think happened was a veteran FA or two (hopefully a few) have contacted the Suns over the table promising to sign for cheap. Otherwise....what the **** is going on here?

Well maybe Sarver is using all this money he is saving to start doing real estate in downtown Phx like he promised.

It only ties up the money the other team offers until the Suns decide to match.

Unfortunately I think this is all about saving every nickel and dime because Sarver will have to pay much more for JJ than he thought he would. these moves wreak of the bottom line.
