Saying we get an OL man with the first pick. And Alex Okafor is already taken, do you like the idea of pairing Acho with LSU's Sam Montgomery as the two starting OLB's?

2nd question. Is there anyone further down in the draft that you feel could make an impact at OLB? How soon?

Not quite what you said.

(Might as well acknowledge all the old people on this forum will think im a pot head for saying this) I dont smoke, but Ridiculous doesnt begin to describe how weed is still a drug in this day and age. Being illegal I mean. How many people have ever OD'd on weed? none. How many have ever smoked for 3 hours straight, and went home and beat their wife or kids? None. Caused a car accident? Besides maybe a fender bender - not many.

Moral of the story, weed is probably the least harmless of any substance on earth. Cigarettes, Coffee, Booze and sugar will forever destroy society before weed does.

People who are high and drive are typically the best drivers on the road because they dont want to be pulled over (thats the other thing. People who are high know they are high. They dont lose control of themselves and "black out". They are 100% fully functioning. They just got the munchies). Secondly, theres not many people who do smoke and drive because they dont even want to risk getting pulled over. Again, people who smoke know they are high and are 100% in control of their mind and body.

:mulli: Sucks when you can't even keep your own story straight.

In case you were not aware, Shane is a Cop, so he might remember when people make comment like that when he is the one who has to tell someone their loved one is dead because someone was driving while impaired.

Wheres the period after 'road'? Im pretty sure there wasnt one because that wasnt the end of that sentence.

People who "arent impaired" are texting, talking on the phone, messing with the radio, thinking about their day and plans and life and stresses in general.

Kids who have smoked are thinking about...not getting pulled over.. and therefore drive at 10 & 2 and drive 10 miles below the speed limit.

Im not arguing with an old person on the intenet. Its embarassing for both parties. Take it elsewhere son.

Back to the question on this Thread. I like Montgomery and would take him with the Cards 2nd round pick if he was there.

You have no idea. You don't know him personally. He could be real honest and open.

Personally the games I WATCHED, I had no problem with what he left out there. He was a load for the other teams.

I'm sure someone has already suggested it, but the Cardinals could just draft the Alabama football team e.g., Warmack, Montgomery, Lacy.

Of course I dont know him.

None of us know any of these players. We just go off what we see and hear.

And what you currently see is before hes a millionaire. Theres a reason Jamarcus Russell went #1 overall. Because he was outstanding in College. Then he got paid.

I Hear a guy openly admit to probably the worst thing an athlete can do - quit - and that sends up 1,000 red flags.

Montgomery played for LSU.

But the Bama thing has come up jokingly. Take Warmack, Fluker, Barrett Jones, etc. That Bama Oline, a bunch of college kids, could arguably be one of the best in the NFL.

Montgomery is an LSU alum. Mingo's team mate.

But they could go, Warmack, Lacy, Barrett Jones, Nico Johnson, Robert Lester and Michael Williams. ;)

My bad on Montgomery, although as noted the Cardinals could get a heap of talent from Alabama.

But I'm not the one calling him worthless.

I never saw him quit. If he's going at 80-90% sometimes, he's being honest and sometimes the call asks for more of a read than steamrolling up field. He's not laying down. Athletes aren't going 100% on every play. That's not real. The coaches would be the first to know and DO SOMETHING. He was never pulled off for being lackadaisical.

I should have added Dee Milliner from Alabama.

My book on Montgomery is that he's 6-3 260 with a pre-combine estimated forty of 4.59.

Don't let that pre-combine time mislead you. His best official time since then (on his pro day) was 4.89, and he's considered by one writer to be slow off the mark coming off the edge.

I realize that there are a few solid but unspectacular DE's/OLB's (like Okafor and Montgomery) who could provide us with competent linebacking depth, but our real need is for at least one explosive edge-rusher. #38 is too high for Montgomery or Okafor in light of other available talent and other Cardinal needs.

Thats not the point. I already said I know athletes dont give 100% every play.

The issue is this guy proclaimed he takes entire weeks (not plays) off vs weaker opponents. Or you could say he doesnt give 100% when theres nothing to play for...

The Cardinals are a bad team. You think hes going to give 100% every week when we are 2-5? No.

Thats the worst possible thing you can have in the lockerroom when things get tough is a quitter. Hed be cancer.

+ he thought it was OK to say that. Even if its true, is it a good Idea to say that to a room full of reporters? "But hes just honest!". Most likely, its not honesty. Dudes extremely slow. You want a numbskull millionaire on your team? YOu need to be sharp to be a pro.

+ (lol I keep thinking of new reasons Not to take him after I already post) why does it HAVE to be montgomery? Hes not the BPA in round 2, IMO. Larry Warford (Warmack 2.0) will be available. Probably a top CB or Safety. Probably a burner WR. Probably a top 3 TE. Theres better pcisk.

Why would you quote the worst movie of all time?
The worst movie of all time was an Iranian film called "The White Balloon." It consisted of 2½-hours of these two youngsters trying endlessly to get a balloon out of a sewer grate. Only Ambien or Lunesta will put you to sleep faster.
