dcr said it looks like a nice tv; but he thinks it would be a bit pricey at $2699. He said the contrast ratio was really good. (actually, he said "nice" but that generally translates to "really good" or "better than average").
He thought the wireless connectivity thing being a separate package was lame.

I can get it for about $1260. Question is, is that the best TV for that money?

Im not a expert but worked at bestbuy and Pacific Sales for 5 years....I love plasma the best...I love panasonics their inside are all Pioneers now...Pioneer got out of the tv business and now their working with Panasonic...1. look at the reviews on bestbuy..their actually real customer..Every product sold has a customer review...Plasmas will always be 4 stars or 5..I will put a 1000 panasonic against any 3000 tv IMO..If you want lcd or led..Sony and Samsung..their the best..imo lg is crap..We used to get 3 or 4 lg returned at bestbuy...Just My two cents...you get what you paid for...This is a sick deal Samsung - 58" Class / 1080p / 600Hz / Plasma HDTV...1299....now if you want 3D...this tv got 4.8 stars out of 38 people Panasonic - VIERA / 50" Class / 1080p / 600Hz / 3D Plasma HDTV...1799..

Agree this seems to be a good TV for the price. However, if black level is important steer clear. It has a terrible black level.
