I guess it makes sense as long as it completely dried out before a current ran through it, though.

Yep. Sounds like something I would do. In my first apartment I had bought a Panasonic 32" TV (which was big for me way back then) and I knocked over an entire glass of water down inside of it. It was sitting on top when I knocked it over and the water poured down the vent slats on top.

All of the sudden the TV starting making this ZAP ZAP ZAP sound. I unplugged it pronto. The TV was only about a few months old. I was so PO and worried that I fried my TV. I unscrewed the shell, towel dried everything, pulled out the blow dryer and tried to dry everything out.

I waited until the next day before attempting to plug it in. I think a Suns game was on so I wanted to try it. When I plugged it in ......................



The fricken thing actually worked. Who would have thunk it? An entire glass of water and the thing still worked. Here is the best part. That very same TV from all those years ago is still working. I have it sitting in the playroom at my house. They don't make TV's like that anymore.
