That if officials wanted to, they could throw a flag on almost every play. And I guess near the end of the game, they wanted to. Lousy for both teams.
In the 4th, there were five consecutive plays where a flag was thrown. At that point, the game became somewhat irritating to watch.
From that point forward, I would check the field after every play just to make sure they didn't throw a flag.
ohh and another note to the officials; before you make an announcement on a penalty (personal foul against the 49ers at the endzone) make sure you confirm with your staff that that is the right call. Don't pick up the flag after you have announced it to the crowd. That was a bold example of the lack luster officiating the NFL has seen this season, all arouond the league.
by the way, and speaking of announcing a penalty and then saying "oh, never mind"
there was a facemask called where Tim Hightower was brought down at the six yard line -- it was announced and the Cards were given a first down.
I was at the game and never got a good look --- was it a facemask or was it a good call?
We did not leave the game until a good ten minutes after the final play. I was waiting for the official to throw a flag and give the 9'ers yet another shot.
I am just glad they didn’t throw a flag on the very last play but I can not believe they didn’t.
How stupid was it for Haggans to tear off the helmet of the guy carrying the ball???
I am a die hard Cards fan and I wouldn’t be able to argue if they made that call and gave them one more play.
