First off let me say that the Sun's players suffer from "Here we go again" syndrome. Every single time the Suns start working the Spurs and then they come back it's like the players go "here we go again". Then they just lose all confidence. This proves more then ever that moral victories in the regular season don't mean jack. I don't see how anybody can think that the Spurs don't have a mental edge over the Suns. They keep proving it over and over again.
Second, D'Antoni is not a great coach. This is 2 games in a row he went to Barbosa and/or Diaw down the stretch of 2 critical times 2 games in a row. Are you freaking kidding me? Where is the pick and pop to Nash? Where is the rub to the basket by Amare? Where was the double high post? Where was the Shaq post up? Holy crap, these last 2 games are by far D'Antoni's worst coached games.
If we go down with Nash missing, Shaq missing or Amare missing I could live with that. I can't live with D'Antoni going to guys who have not done it at the end of games all season. At the very least this series should be tied 1-1. If POP was coaching this team I have no doubt we would be up 2-0.
I said it after game one. We have not proved we can win a close game with the Spurs. This team has too many mental short cummings (including the coach). The only way the Suns can beat San Antoni is to have a 15 point lead going down the stretch and hold on.
We will not beat the Spurs in a close game down the stretch. We will not beat San Antonio if they have the lead down the stretch. We must take command of the game by early in the 4th for every game here on out to have a chance in the series.
Now it's time to protect our Home Court. There is no room for error now. If the Suns are going to prove they are better they better destroy the Spurs over the next 2 games. This team needs a serious confidence boost despite what they are saying to the media.
