I don't generally post here. I must say that being a fan of this club is very hard. Managment has made a mess of the bull pen and after Upton and Reynolds lacks the ability to get runners over the plate. If I were running this false impression of a major league team, the first thing I would do with maybe 2 exceptions is release the entire bullpen and trade or bring in fresh blood.

THe second thing I would do is let go or rearrange the whole minor league system which lacks everything to make the big club winners. I hate to hack jobs but this team was a big winner in great uniforms and then some clown comes in a changes all these winning habits. Firer them all!

The stupid mental errors are what drive me crazy. In a five out span in todays game Reynolds and Young were both picked off at first and Miguel M. hit a beautiful double but slid past the base and was tagged out. That kind of crap CAN NOT HAPPEN if you want to be a decent baseball team. 3 out of 5 outs were as a result of pure stupidity and mental lapses. Unbelievable!

Also this team seems to lack fire big time. They don't seem to get real excited at big plays. When watching the Yankees the other day (don't get this confused for me liking the Yankees because I can't stand them) I noticed what a huge difference in the personality of the team. They get extremely excited when they score runs or more and good play and it simply seems like they not only care to win more, but that they enjoy the game more. This team severely lacks fire, personality, and excitement.

I agree 100%, I have never seen a worse bullpen ever. How it can get this is insane. It is all on Josh Byrnes.

EDIT: Just as I type this they implode again as Ecstein hits a 3 run homer as the Padres come back from 6-0. I refuse to spend another dime on them until they make some real changes.

Those are the little things that we fail at that I am talking about. Roberts fails to put down a good bunt leading to Parra being thrown out at third after a great leadoff double. Then Drew comes up an hits a deep fly ball that would have easily scored Parra from third. Those are the plays that lose us games. (Aside from the Bullpen giving up countless runs.)

Edit: Man this team is so frustrating to watch when they just look like they don't care. Honestly, Upton is the only one who ever acts like he gets excited when he does something well or gets upset/frustrated when he knows he missed an opportunity to make something happen. The rest of the guys seem like they don't give a dang win or lose, succeed or fail, K or homerun. It's like it's all the same to them.

Know of any takers?

Great uniforms? Are you referring to those horrible purple and teal ones that regularly placed last in total sales for MLB merchandise?

Big winner? You mean the mortgaging the future for the current by carrying a $200M payroll and financing it out over decades with interest? That's about as reasonable as complaining about being stuck with your $200,000 house you bought in 2003 on a sub-prime mortgage for $450,000.

I say we keep: Upton, CoJack, Parra, Max, and Danny and blow up the rest of the team. Add Drew to that list, he's developing into a solid SS which isn't easy to come by. As my friend said, "it looks like we're going to half to start rebuilding our rebuilding, because half of these guys suck."

How did you know I bought a $400,000 house in 03? That is now worth a large pack of Costco toilet paper. I'm not saying to run anyone off in the minors, but after building a real healthy system, In 2009 all you have to do is look at the teams and stats to know this system is very light in talent. There was a time when this farm was top notch, but we have used most of it up, and traded many. I guess we will wait and see if any of these picks can play.
