Maicer Izturis hit an RBI single in the bottom of the ninth after Francisco Rodriguez blew a three-run lead in the top half, and the Los Angeles Angels beat the Oakland Athletics 7-6 on Wednesday to avoid a three-game sweep. Rodriguez (4-2) took the ball with a 6-3 lead and failed to preserve the win for John Lackey.
